Have a Wonderful Summer!
Thank you for the outstanding school year!! I am so grateful that you trust us with your children! Please take time to create memories over the summer, and don't forget to read with your child or listen to them read every day. Your children are such a gift, and I appreciate them so much!! Be safe and have fun!!
Parent/Caregiver Survey Results
Here are the top two areas in the Bridgewater Parent/Caregiver Survey on a 5 point scale:
4.65 (up from 4.54) I am treated with respect at this school
4.63 (up from 4.53) I believe the school is clean and well maintained
Here are the two lowest areas:
3.65 ( down from 3.73) I receive positive phone calls, emails or notes about my child from school
3.84 (up from 3.81) I regularly receive feedback from school staff on how well my child is learning.
Action Item: There were many comments about parent-teacher conferences, and we have made changes for next year. We will hold conferences before school starts, in the fall and in the spring next year. We will continue to work to make Bridgewater Elementary a welcoming place where all students and families belong. We want all students to feel heard, seen, valued and empowered to do their best and this happens when we partner with families in an effective manner.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey!!
Save the Date
Family conferences and school pictures will take place on August 27th. Picture retakes will be held on November 7th.
A Note from Nurse Lucy
We are unable to keep any medications at school through the summer including EpiPens and inhalers, even if the student would still need them in the fall. All medications must be picked up today by a parent(s), or you may make arrangements with the front office prior to the end of the day (1:20 PM) about stopping in the main office at Bridgewater the next week to get them. Any meds left at school will be disposed of at the Northfield Police Station, "Take It to the Box". If you have any questions or want to make special arrangements for pick up, please let me know. My direct line is (507) 664-3305, email> larchibald@northfieldschools.org. Have a safe and healthy summer!

BW Summer Office Hours
The Bridgewater office will be open June 9-11th from 7:00am-3:00pm. After that, we will close for the summer. The office will reopen officially on Tuesday, August 12th from 7:00am-3:00pm. With fewer staff members in the office over the summer, you may want to call before you plan on stopping in to make sure someone will be available to assist. The district office is open all summer and can be reached at 507-663-0600.
Teacher Placement
Teacher placement information will be sent out to parents via email by August. Please know that this process takes many hours, and this is why parent input is asked for in April at the start of this project. Changes requested in August will not be honored except for extenuating circumstances. Thank you for understanding!
Update Contact Information
Moving to a new house, city or state? If you are planning to move over the summer, please contact the office with your updated information (507)-664-3300 or kengle@northfieldschools.org. Put Your Passion in Action - Become a Reading or Math Tutor!
We are looking for Reading and Math Tutors for the 2025-26 school year. You can take action in our community by giving your time and talent to help students succeed with reading and math.
Tutors work individually or in pairs of students during school hours throughout the school year to provide extra practice and skill-building. Whether you’re a recent grad, career changer, stay-at-home parent or retiree, you can make a great tutor and help kids build essential skills. No experience? No problem. With training and on-site coaching, our tutors are prepared to help kids succeed.
Part-time and full-time positions are available beginning in August, October and January. Tutors receive a paycheck every two weeks plus additional money for college tuition or loans (tutors 55+ may gift the education award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster child).
