April Message
Selma Families,
Happy April!
Spring is officially here, and our campus is buzzing with learning and growth. Our students are working hard in their classrooms, and we are proud of the progress they continue to make each day.
This month brings exciting learning opportunities as well as continued focus and perseverance. Please help support your child by ensuring they arrive at school on time each day, get plenty of rest, and come ready to learn. A strong routine makes a big difference—especially as students demonstrate their learning through the STAAR and end-of-year projects.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are helping our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. If you ever have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful April!
Warm regards,
Dr. Melissa Martinez
Principal

PBIS Parent Training
PBIS in the Home
April 16, 2026, 3:30-4:30 PM @ Selma Cafeteria
We welcome you to come learn about Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support(PBIS). This session will assist parents with the PBIS framework used in our schools and show them how to tailor it for their home. We’ll move past the "Don't!" cycle and focus on building a home environment where expectations are clear and parents don't feel overwhelmed.
What you’ll walk away with:
We will review and create a simple chart of what "Respect, Responsibility, and Safety" look like in the different areas of the home.
We will focus on how to use specific praise and low-cost incentives to encourage the behaviors you want to see.
Review practical tips for smoothing out high-stress transition times like mornings and homework hour.
Please RSVP here, to help us order enough pizza: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7CLYFC8
Students whose parents attend will receive a popcorn party!
Middle of the Year Parent Survey
Don't forget to sign-up for our school fundraiser
We’d love for you to join our PTO! Your voice and involvement make a big difference in our school community. If you’re interested in supporting our students, events, and staff, please consider becoming part of the PTO family. We hope to see you there!
Arrival & Dismissal Traffic Reminders
Selma families please be sure that we are following our traffic plan for arrival and dismissal.
- Please do not drop off students in the bus lane and staff parking,
- At arrival please do not park in the car line and walk up to the door, we need to keep the car rider line moving, if your students need help, our staff will help them out of the car
- At dismissal it is important to have your car tag to ensure the safety of our students. The safety of all is important to us so we also ask you not to exit your vehicle while actively in the dismissal lane.
- All walkers should walk home safely along the sidewalk, it is not a car rider pick up location.
- We do not allow early dismissal after 2:30 and walk ups during the time of dismissal.
Please be sure you have your blue card on the dash of your vehicle, if you do not have it, we will ask you to park and come inside to school to receive a new card with your identification.
