Meet a Hubbs teacher!

This week we got to meet with Janice Bisch and hear about what she does at Hubbs! Janice is a teacher that has been teaching at Hubbs for about 10 years. She also taught for 12 years with Minneapolis ABE! She teaches ELL A1 students, and throughout her time here she has taught math, computer classes, and English classes. She especially loves working with ELL A1 students because of the hard work she gets to see daily working with them. Janice loves to help students get off to a good start with their education at Hubbs and enjoys getting to know them as well. She enjoys working with the staff and students and is inspired by their hard work and dedication to reaching their goals. Her typical day is spent preparing for classes and teaching; she is teaching one in person class right now. Outside of Hubbs, Janice enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, playing pickleball, and cross-country skiing. Her advice to learners at Hubbs is to believe in yourself and that you can succeed. You wouldn't tell your children or another loved one that they can't succeed. So when that voice in your head that says, "I can't do it" or "I'm stupid" --tell yourself "I can do it if I just keep trying".
