Last week was full of fall fun! Our students had a blast parading through the elementary school halls, and we were so impressed by all the amazing creative entries in our pumpkin decorating contest.

Winter Weather Procedures Winter Weather Procedures

Colder weather is right around the corner. Please familiarize yourself with the District’s winter weather procedures by clicking here.

In the event of a school closure, the District will hold an eLearning day instead of the traditionally scheduled emergency days at the end of the academic year. A two-hour late start is an additional District option in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen events.

If schools are open, parents may, as always, excuse their child if they feel conditions are unsafe. Any bus delays of 10 minutes or more will be communicated to our families via our notification system.

Strategic Planning Session—Nov. 18 Strategic Planning Session—Nov. 18

Help the FSD79 leadership team shape the District’s next strategic plan. Please join us for a parent/guardian feedback session on November 18 following the PTO meeting:

  • Wednesday, November 18 • 7:00-8:00 p.m.

  • Fremont Middle School Media Center

Input on priorities and big ideas for the future of our Fremont schools will be collected. This is just the first opportunity for families to share their feedback. Additional opportunities will be forthcoming in December and January.

Free childcare will be provided for children ages 3+. While it is not required to RSVP to attend, please do so here if you intend to take advantage of childcare.

Cafeteria Slideshow Cafeteria Slideshow

Get ready to shine! Our cafeteria slideshow is back for Part 2, and after loving all your fantastic family and pet photos over the past two months, it’s time to celebrate what makes our students truly extraordinary!

Cafeteria Slideshow Series, Part 2: Wildcat Superpowers — Talents & Hobbies!

Does your child have a unique hobby, a favorite sport, a creative passion, or a hidden talent? We want to show off their amazing superpowers on the big screen during lunch! Share the Magic: Upload your child’s photos here by December 9 to feature them in the next cafeteria slideshow and let the whole school cheer them on!

5th Grade Parents - Update on Wrestling 5th Grade Parents - Update on Wrestling

My name is Andrea Poglayen, and I am the middle school athletic director. We have a wonderful opportunity for 5th graders to get involved in middle school wrestling. From December to March, we offer a no-cut GIRLS & BOYS wrestling program at the Middle school, along with our middle schoolers.

This is an athletic program, not intramurals. The athletes will attend practices and conference matches, both home and away. I have attached the current schedule, which is subject to adjustment.

Practices will begin on December 7 and will be held at the Middle School. I am working with Mr. Ladenburger to determine transportation from the IS to the MS after Winter Break.

If you are interested, please complete the Interest form linked below. As the season approaches, additional information will be shared, and a $100 athletic fee will be applied within the first week of the season.

Additionally, your athlete will need a physical on file at the middle school nurse’s office to participate. Please email a copy to rhickok@fsd79.org.

To make this tribute truly special, we need your help. We invite you to submit a photo and brief details—including name, military branch, rank, and years of service—of your loved ones so we can proudly feature them on our wall. Please complete this form and upload a photo. Thank you for helping us pay tribute to their service and sacrifice!

Parent University Virtual Presentation—RULER Framework—Nov. 11 Parent University Virtual Presentation—RULER Framework—Nov. 11

Mark your calendars for November 11 as we invite all parents and guardians to join us for our upcoming virtual Parent University: Connecting RULER Social-Emotional Learning from School to Home, presented by Fremont staff.

Across all grade levels, our classrooms have been actively embedding the RULER framework (developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence) into daily learning. During this virtual interactive session, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of our schoolwide RULER rollout and take home practical strategies to use the Mood Meter and Charter concepts within your family routine.
