Dear FNE Families,

As we move into the month of February, we are thrilled to celebrate the growth we are seeing across our campus. Our mid-year assessments have shown encouraging progress, and it has been exciting to watch so many of our students demonstrate growth in their learning. Their hard work, perseverance, and commitment along with your support are truly making a difference.

This month, our Capturing Kids’ Hearts focus is Kindness. We are challenging students to make kindness a daily habit, not just at school, but also at home and in the community. Acts of kindness, big or small, help build positive relationships, strengthen our school culture, and create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

As we continue through the school year, we ask for your continued partnership in supporting student success. Encouraging strong attendance, positive attitudes, and consistent effort at home helps reinforce the important work happening each day on campus. Together, we can ensure our students continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. We are grateful to work alongside you as we help our students reach their fullest potential.

Our Attendance Challenge has been extended through the month of February! We are now adding the word ATTENDANCE to our goal. Each time a class reaches 100% attendance, they earn a new letter! Attendance matters — it gives you the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover new things every single day. Do your part for your team and for yourself by showing up, being on time, and being ready to learn each and every day. Let’s work together and keep spelling PERFECT … and now you can also spell out ATTENDANCE to earn a special surprise!

Love is in the air... and so are paintbrushes! Our students will be participating in a special Valentine's Day painting activity on February 12th during class rotations.
Painting kits are available for purchase at $10 each. Parents interested in their child joining this activity should place their order by February 6th at https://fnes-pta.square.site/ If you would like to donate a painting kit to another student, there is an option during checkout. 🎨💘

During the month of February and March, our campus will administer several assessments for students in grades 3–5. To minimize disruptions and maintain test security, we have designated specific “No Visitor Days.”

We also kindly ask families to support a strong testing environment by ensuring students have good attendance, arrive on time, and avoid early checkouts on testing days.

February: 3, 4, 24, 25, 26, 27
March: 3, 4, 5, 6

This month’s Capturing Kids’ Hearts Family Newsletter highlights Kindness, encouraging students to recognize the power of compassion, empathy, and positive connections with others. Together, we can nurture these essential life skills by modeling kindness at home, celebrating thoughtful actions, and creating opportunities for children to show care in their daily interactions. This month’s activities are designed to spark meaningful conversations about kindness and support children as they grow in confidence, character, and their ability to make a positive impact on those around them. Each month, you will receive a newsletter from your school and Capturing Kids’ Hearts that aligns with a monthly character focus. These newsletters include ideas, challenges, and activities to help you connect, reflect, and grow as a family. Each family newsletter will:

• Define and explain the focused character trait for the month.
• Provide you with ideas and activities to help you grow your child’s character.
