Extra Clothes from Home
With the weather changing, please send your student(s) with a change of clothes to keep at school.
Spills, accidents, and playground puddles are all possible scenarios on why your student may need to change during the school day. We are limited in extra clothing options so a call to home might be needed if students don't have extra attire.
Notes from the Health Office
Eastside's Health office is located next to the main office and Nurse Emily McCabe's phone number is 608-834-7406.
If your student has prescription medicine that needs to be administered during school hours, please send signed doctor orders in. This also applies to inhalers.

Advanced Learner Program Update
Math 24 Club
Starting Monday, November 4th, Math 24 club at Eastside will be offered to 3rd grade students. The 4th and 5th grade students will start on Friday, November 8th. We will be meeting from 7:10-7:40 in room 113, which is located by the 1st grade classrooms. There is no school sponsored transportation to elementary clubs. Caregivers will have to drop students off in the morning. Students in 4th and 5th grade may have the opportunity to compete at our local Math 24 meet and the Dane County Regional Math 24 tournament in the Spring. More information will follow.
Greater Dane Writing Anthology
This is an opportunity for 5th grade students to enter a writing competition! Students can select from the categories of art, cartoons, creative writing, persuasive writing, or poetry. I will be introducing this opportunity to students in the next few weeks. Students that are interested will be asked to complete a form with their intent. A rough draft will need to be submitted before Winter Break in December. I will work with students to edit and finalize their pieces and prepare them for submission. In early January, all of the Sun Prairie pieces will be judged and the top 10 pieces per grade level, per category will be selected to continue on to the regional competition.

Bus Information
Bus Delays and Emergencies
Please remember that buses may be slightly delayed when we are experiencing snow and icy conditions. Anything within 5 minutes of the scheduled arrival time is considered “on time.”
If your child’s bus is delayed and/or evacuated for any reason (bus breakdown, emergency, etc.) students must stay with the driver and wait for further instructions. If another bus is dispatched, students are to ride that bus and only get off at their assigned stop.
Transportation Webpage
Did you know the district has a web page devoted to student transportation? There’s so much useful information, including an interactive boundary/busing eligibility map, forms for secondary household and childcare transportation requests, an FAQ, and more! Go to https://www.sunprairieschools.org/departments/transportation to check it out.
Lost and Found
Kobussen has a Lost & Found for items left on the bus. The driver will keep the lost item on the bus for a few days, then turn it in at the terminal. If your child has a lost item don’t forget to check with Kobussen. Feel free to stop by the terminal at 1500 Forward Drive, Sun Prairie to check the lost and found.
Kobussen
If you have any questions or concerns about busing throughout the school year, please contact Kobussen at 825-8700, ext 5509.

Tip Line Entry
New Electronic Safety Tip Line
The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority for the district. We have been teaching our students to say something to a trusted adult when they see something unsafe. Sometimes, though, there are barriers to reporting safety issues in person. Tip lines are one common approach that schools use to promote school and student safety and well-being. Tip lines are designed to provide students or other members of the public with a safe and confidential way to report a threat to a student or school safety.
To that end, we have created an Electronic Safety Tip Line available on the district website. The e-Tip Line allows students, parents, or community members to report weapons, threats of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, threat of suicide, drugs, and any other activity that could potentially endanger students, staff, and property.
We are developing a communication plan to roll this out to students in upper elementary, middle school, and high school. The e-Tip Line is available on the district website from the “Families” menu and “Quicklinks” and can also be found on the district bullying and safety webpages. If a student wishes to file a bullying report, please fill out a Bullying Report Form on the website.
