Family Newsletter
October 2025

Message from the Principal
Dear FNE Families,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope you and your families enjoyed a restful and joyful winter break. As we return to school this January, we are excited to begin 2026 with renewed energy, focus, and commitment to student success.
This month, we encourage students to start strong by setting personal goals for themselves—academically, socially, and behaviorally. January is a perfect time for students to reflect on their progress, challenge themselves to do their very best in their studies, and make positive choices each day. We also continue to emphasize the importance of being a good friend by showing kindness, respect, and responsibility toward others.
Attendance matters more than ever as we begin the new year. Every day of learning builds upon the last, and being present consistently helps students stay connected, confident, and successful in the classroom. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring students arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day.
As we move forward together in 2026, our focus remains on supporting the whole child: academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration as we work to make this a successful and meaningful year for all our students.
Expect nothing less but the best, we are FNE!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Cruz

Capturing Kids Heart
At FNE, relationships come first—and that’s why we are proud to be a 4x Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Campus! This recognition reflects our commitment to creating a campus where every student feels valued, safe, and connected.
This month’s Capturing Kids’ Hearts Family Newsletter highlights Responsibility, guiding students to recognize the value of making thoughtful choices, taking ownership of their actions, and following through on expectations. Together, we can help children develop these important life skills by reinforcing routines at home, encouraging accountability, and acknowledging responsible decisions as they occur. This month’s activities are designed to spark meaningful conversations about responsibility and support children as they build confidence, character, and independence. Each month, you will receive a newsletter from your school and Capturing Kids’ Hearts that aligns with a monthly character focus. These newsletters include ideas, challenges, and activities to help you connect, reflect, and grow as a family. Each family newsletter will:
- Define and explain the focused character trait for the month.
- Provide you with ideas and activities to help you grow your child’s character.
- Equip you with conversation starters you can use to talk with your child and make their learning personal and relevant. Get started this month with the first family newsletter. We are excited to be on this journey with you! We are BETTER Together, Your Friends at Capturing Kids’ Hearts
