Class Placements for the 2025-26 School Year
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! As we prepare for a year of growth and learning, we are excited to share the list of our dedicated classroom teachers for this school year:
Kindergarten: Cari Shamberg (AM)/Betsy Decker (PM), David Mangless, Megan Roberts, and Luanne Kowalke
Grade 1: Laura Franks, Christine Sobczak, and Corrie Tucker
Grade 2: Kimberly Farrell, Julie Propes, and Mandy Shulman
Grade 3: Julie Arutyunov and Megan Esterling
Grade 3/4 multiage: Deborah Carlberg and Laura Scott
Grade 4: Kerri Edwards (ELA) and Molly Shiple (Math/Science/Social Studies)
Grade 5: Jeri Hart (all subjects), Mindi Rench (ELA), and Jessica Sliepka (Math/Science/Social Studies)
Foundational Program:

Your child's teacher/class assignment will be emailed to you after 3:30p.m. on Friday, August 8th.
Principal Challenge #1
Throughout the year, Dr. Mo likes to offer fun and interactive challenges for students. For this first challenge, Dr. Mo is asking students to help her decorate her office! It's completely optional and you may participate in any way that works for you. More details can be found here.

Popsicles with the Principal
Please join Dr. Mo on the Greenbriar Playground for a popsicle and Meet-N-Greet on either August 11th at 5:30p.m. or August 13th at 2:00p.m. If you haven't signed up yet, you can RSVP here.
Meet the Teacher
We hope you can join us for Meet the Teacher on August 19th:
Kindergarten: 10:00-11:30a.m.
Grades 1-5: 1:30-2:30p.m.
If you ordered school supplies through the PTO, they have been delivered to your child's classroom.
PTO News
August 19th at 1:30-3:00p.m.: Come visit us at the PTO Headquarters in the front atrium to learn more about PTO membership, and ways you can support our school.
The PTO will be sending a weekly update on Wednesdays....you can also always find the latest news and updates on the PTO website.

August 17 at 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m.: Foundational Family Event (for students and families enrolled in the Foundational Program)
August 17 at 1:00-2:00p.m.: PTO Kindergarten Playdate on the Greenbriar Playground
August 19: Meet the Teacher
August 20: First Day of School for Kindergarten-8th grade (Young Explorers begins on August 21st)
August 29: Half day of school
September 1: No School
September 3: Save the date for Curriculum Night
September 4: Picture Day (more information will be sent home)
Virtual Backpack
District 28 invites local non-profit organizations and community government agencies to promote events for families and children. Each week, some event are highlighted in the newsletter. All fliers are subject to approval.
