August 17, 2026
November 4, 2026
Good morning Huskie families,
Welcome back from the long Halloweekend! (Anyone else's kids still coming down from a sugar high?)
We concluded our Charleston Wrap fundraiser on Sunday. Thank you so much to all who participated! Check out this week's newsletter for details on current and upcoming events. A few highlights:
- We look forward to celebrating and honoring the veterans near and dear to our Huskie family next week at our Annual Veterans Day Breakfast on November 11. Sign up to help out.
- Parents, we are in urgent need of volunteers to help with our Art Awareness program. Without enough volunteers, the program will have to be discontinued. Please sign up HERE if you're available! (Program details follow.) We have the biggest need for volunteers in the following classrooms: KK, 1F, 3B, 3R, 4B, 4E, 5F, 5K, and 5O.
Volunteers Needed for Veteran's Day Breakfast on 11/11
Help Us Honor the Veterans in our Huskie Community
We are proud to once again celebrate and honor those veterans near and dear to our Huskie family at our annual Veterans Day Breakfast. All students are welcome and encouraged to invite the veterans in their families to join together for this inspiring annual breakfast and assembly.
In order to make this event a success, we need volunteers to help with setup the afternoon before and on the morning of the breakfast. Please visit this sign up link to volunteer - we appreciate you!
Dough Raising: Domino Slice the Price Cards
🍕BOGO Pizza! 🍕
Spring Brook PTA is running a Domino's Slice the Price card fundraiser from Monday, November 9 - Monday November 23. Students will be selling $20 Domino's cards that can be used for buy-one-get-one-FREE large pizzas at Domino's until 6/30/27. Spring Brook gets $10 back for every card sold!
Info will be sent home with students later in the week.
Dough raising events are an opportunity to join with others in the Spring Brook community for fun, food and a little fundraising. A portion of sales during these events are donated by our community partners to support the efforts of the Spring Brook Elementary PTA.
Input Needed: Spiritwear Survey
Help Us Plan Our Next Drop of Spring Brook Spiritwear
We're getting ready to drop the next batch of Spring Brook spiritwear, and we would love your input!
Are you (or your students) interested in sweatshirts? PJ pants? Maybe a blanket, or something else entirely? Please take this brief, two question survey to help us plan what to include in our next drop of Huskie gear.
Community Relations
A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
The PTA is always looking for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students. We expanded our sponsorship program last year and plan to continue these efforts in the 2026-2027 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Mulryan.
Coming Soon
Join Us for the November PTA Meeting
Please join us in the Multipurpose Room for our next all-member PTA meeting on Thursday, November 19 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
All teachers, parents, members of the Spring Brook Elementary PTA are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings. Each month, Mrs. Adams speaks and opens the floor for questions and our committee chairs report on and solicit support for upcoming and recent events.
Younger siblings are welcome to attend with parents, coloring supplies are provided! Can't attend in person? You can join virtually via Google Meet (link will be provided).
Multicultural Day: December 4 (volunteers needed!)
Our school is filled with beautiful, diverse cultures, and we want to bring those rich traditions to life for our students! On Friday, December 4, Spring Brook Elementary will be hosting our annual Multicultural Day.
This event is a memorable, hands-on way to introduce our children to unique global traditions, games, clothing, and histories that are deeply meaningful to members of our own community.
To make this day a success, we are looking for four Lead Volunteers to showcase a country or heritage close to their heart.
Who Can Volunteer?
You do not need to be a professional presenter! We are looking for:
- Parents or family members originally from another country who want to share their heritage.
- Families who practice cultural traditions passed down through generations.
- Anyone with family ties to a specific country who wants to share what makes their culture unique and important to them.
🙋♀️ How to Sign Up
If you are interested in being one of our four featured country leads, or if you have any questions about what showcasing a country looks like, please reach out to Brea Khalid.
Thank you in advance for helping us create a vibrant, educational, and unforgettable day for our students. We cannot wait to celebrate the wonderful cultures that make Spring Brook so special!
Volunteer Opportunities
URGENT: Art Awareness Volunteers Needed
We are still in need of quite a few volunteers for our Art Awareness program. Unfortunately, this program is at risk of being discontinued without support from parents. Please sign up HERE if you're available! (Program details follow.)
We have the biggest need for volunteers in the following classrooms: KK, 1F, 3B, 3R, 4B, 4E, 5F, 5K, 5O
__________
Do you love art or love to help out in your child's classroom? The PTA is looking for parents to volunteer to teach Art Awareness lessons to your child's class.
We provide everything you need to do the lesson, no experience necessary!
Volunteers pair up and teach the students about well-known artists and their works and then facilitate an art project inspired by the style. All teaching materials, training, and activities are provided for volunteers. The students always enjoy the lessons and will amaze you with their interpretation of the art presented.
Sign up here for ONE spot only. You will self-schedule one lesson with your teacher in the semester you are assigned to.
Thanks for helping keep art flowing through our school!
Committee Opportunities for 2026-2027 School Year
The PTA offers many ways to get involved in our school and with our students. Several event and program committees are in need of support this year. We are still seeking chairs for Teacher Appreciation and Science Fair (which will be a learning role this year to take over next year).
Contact Marissa Kopp at springbrookpresidentpta@gmail.com to get involved!
