GIRLS ON THE RUN

Our first practice is MONDAY September 19th from 2:30- 3:45. If your child is participating in GOTR, you should have received an email with important information last week. If you did not receive this email, please contact Mrs. Dunnigan at kdunnigan@glnd.k12.va.us.

Parents, please arrive to the car loop by 3:45 to pick up your student on each practice day! Coaches will walk students out at the conclusion of practice.

SEPTEMBER IS ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH

Did you know that missing 10% of the school year, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, is considered chronic absenteeism? Students can still fall behind even by missing 1 or 2 days every few weeks.

At Byrd, we love to see our students smiling faces every day. During the month of September, any student who is present every day starting on September 6th will be entered to win a NEW BIKE! Classes will also have the opportunity to earn a special treat of their choice if their class has good attendance.

You can learn more about ways to encourage good attendance here.
