Calendar Change: Dryden High School ONLY
Friday, May 15, 2026, has changed from a full day of school to a half day of school at Dryden High School ONLY.
Dryden High School will host the MHSAA Track and Field Regional 39 meet at Stremler Field on May 15. The event begins at noon. Because some members of the high school staff volunteer at the meet, many students participate or spectate, and the parking lot will be needed for visitors, Dryden High School only will have a half day of school, dismissing at 10:35 a.m.

Riddle of the Week
Last week's riddle:
I turn once, what is out will not get in. I turn again, what is in will not get out. What am I? A key!
Congratulations, Autumn Hicks! You were the first with the correct answer!
This week's riddle: They can be harbored, but few hold water. You can nurse them, but only by holding them against someone else. You can carry them, but not with your arms. You can bury them, but not in the earth. What are they?

Sideline Report
From Mr. Tresnak, Athletic Director
Advantages for Multi-Sport Athletes
One of the greatest advantages of participating in athletics at Dryden is the opportunity for students to be multi-sport athletes. Playing multiple sports helps students develop a broader range of physical skills, reduces burnout, lowers the risk of overuse injuries, and builds adaptability, confidence, and resilience. Just as importantly, it allows students to experience different teams, coaching styles, and peer groups—helping them grow socially and emotionally, not just athletically.
Our size as a school is a strength. In smaller districts like Dryden, students often have opportunities to participate, compete, and contribute in ways that simply aren’t available in larger schools. Instead of being forced to specialize early or choose one path, our athletes can explore multiple sports, discover new strengths, and stay involved throughout the year. That well-rounded experience is what high school athletics are meant to provide.
While some student-athletes do go on to compete at the college level, the reality is that only a small percentage of high school athletes will play collegiate sports. What all athletes gain, however, are lifelong benefits—work ethic, teamwork, leadership, discipline, and a love of physical activity. Our goal is to help students develop as complete people, enjoy their high school experience, and leave Dryden prepared for success in whatever path they choose.
High school sports are about opportunity, growth, and belonging—and being a multi-sport athlete helps maximize all three.
