Attendance Matters!

Did you know? Missing just 2-4 days in September makes students five times more likely to miss a lot more school later in the year. That’s why we’re reaching out early to share attendance updates, check for any barriers, and offer support. Together, we can help your student build strong habits for a successful school year!

Attendance

In order to process a request for your student's absence, leaving early or coming in late, please be sure that a Guardian is making the request. We cannot accept a call from anyone other than a Guardian.

Parent Teacher Conferences Parent Teacher Conferences

BMHS will hold Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 3:15 to 7:00 P.M. All parents are encouraged to attend and discuss your student's progress. Staff locator sheets and a school map will be available on the night of the conferences. To schedule a conference CLICK HERE.

Conferences will be held in person, unless, you click "ADD SPECIAL REQUEST" for a virtual conference. You must provide contact information for a phone or video conference for the teacher to contact you.

We had twenty-four Berea-Midpark High School students, along with counselor Dawn Ruebensaal, Student Support Liaison Susan Malone, and Mentor Craig Richardson attend the 5th annual HBCU Football Hall of Fame Classic College Fair at Canton McKinley Bulldog Center in Canton, Oh. Our students represented one of 43 high schools statewide and engaged with recruiters from 80 colleges and universities from all over the country. We are proud to announce that Four BMHS students were awarded on-the-spot scholarships, including one full scholarship.

Polaris

Congratulations to our students who were selected as a Polaris Career Center student ambassador for the 2025-26 school year! These students will represent Polaris at recruitment-related events and help promote Polaris to potential students. Student ambassadors must meet the following requirements: maintain a B or above in all Polaris classes; maintain 95% attendance; have no excessive tardies or major discipline issues; and an instructor recommendation.

News from the Clinic News from the Clinic

Attention Seniors - The Ohio Department of Health School Immunization Requirement now includes two doses of Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine to be administered before a student enters the twelfth grade. Therefore, your rising twelfth-grader will need to show proof of having received the Meningococcal vaccine. Currently there are no school entry requirements for Meningococcal B vaccine. The recommended MCV4 minimum interval is at least eight (8) weeks between dose one and dose two. If the first dose of MCV4 was administered on or after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required.
Please submit proof of vaccinations to the clinic as soon as possible!

Important Financial Aid Reminder:
College-bound students should plan to complete their FAFSA as close to October 1 as possible, but not before. Financial Aid Night is at 6:30 on October 1, where Mrs. Spangler from College Now will go over financial aid and FAFSA. Dr. Ruebensaal will go over ways to save money and answer questions about the college application process.

PSAT Testing

PSAT:

* 11th grade is when students taking the PSAT/NMSQT are part of the National Merit competition. We've had students recognized before, and hope to again. Being recognized by the National Merit program can help students have a stronger resume to get into selective schools, open the door for scholarships, etc.

* Knowing your PSAT score will help you to get an idea of what your SAT score will be, and where colleges fall in your reach, match, and safety school list

* Helps you to see if you are on target with learning benchmarks

* Exposure and familiarity with the testing format and platform are likely to help increase your SAT score

* Access to AP Potential, which helps to identify AP courses that might be a good fit for you

* There is a component that can help to customize career information and guidance about planning and paying for college
