Happy Labor Day Dealey Families!
I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and are entering Week 4 feeling refreshed and energized. As a community, we are stronger when we choose optimism, and the positive energy we carry as adults flows directly into the experiences of our children.
🌍 Mission & Vision Spotlight
Our Mission
“To provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in a global society.”
Our Vision
“To cultivate a thriving, inclusive learning community where all students become compassionate leaders, creative problem-solvers, and globally-minded citizens.”
Our mission and vision are reflected daily in the way we support, encourage, and uplift one another.
📌 Reflection Question
✨ What things will you do this week to live the vision? ✨
I appreciate you always choosing optimism and showing kindness—especially when things get hard—is one of the simplest and strongest ways to bring our vision to life. You all are amazing!
🎥 Positivity in Action – A Video for Our Community
This week, we invite you to enjoy this short animated film: The Optimist – Animated Short Film.
The story reminds us that while challenges are inevitable, our outlook shapes our experience. Just like the character in the video who chooses positivity in the face of obstacles, we at Dealey strive to create a learning environment where optimism, kindness, and resilience ripple through our classrooms and community.
🎉 Celebrating Our Success
-
Dealey Montessori & International Academy is ranked in the Top 10% of schools in Texas—a testament to our students’ effort, our teachers’ expertise, and our families’ partnership.
-
We surpassed the district’s enrollment projections, making Dealey #1 in recruitment and enrollment growth among Dallas ISD multi-level, magnets and Montessori schools.
💫 Positivity in Action
As we move into Week 4 after the holiday, let’s model optimism and kindness. When we, as adults, remain positive and solution-minded, that sweetness trickles down to our students—shaping their mindset, resilience, and joy in learning.
🗓 Looking Ahead
-
Renewed focus on purposeful learning and community care this week
-
Continued commitment to our Mission & Vision in every classroom and activity
Thank you for being an integral part of the Dealey family. Together, we will continue to rise, shine, and thrive!
With gratitude and optimism,
Love❤️ Principal Amber Garrett

Seeking Parent Garden Volunteers for PreK - 5th Grade Classrooms -
Parent Gardening Volunteers work with their child's PreK/K or Lower Elementary teacher to determine a mutually convenient time to take students out to the garden each week (or every other week) during school hours. The time commitment for the Parent Gardening Volunteers is typically 60 - 90 minutes per gardening session, and the role can be shared between several parents in one classroom. 4th and 5th Grade students may also participate in gardening if a parent volunteer is available and their teacher desires for them to participate in gardening. We are planning to begin gardening with the students the week of September 8. If you are interested in serving as a Gardening Volunteer or learning more about this volunteer role, please contact Andrea Montillo (andreamontillo@gmail.com).
