🏫Southern Ohio Career Academy (SOCA) is a tuition-free public high school serving grades 9–12 in Chillicothe, Ohio. Our mission is to empower students by integrating rigorous classroom instruction with diverse pathways, relevant enrichment opportunities, and unique educational experiences. We provide a personalized, high-quality education that equips students with essential life skills, certified occupational skills, and meaningful employment skills or preparation for higher education programs. ​

We understand that traditional approaches to graduation may not meet the needs of all students. That's why our team of educational experts designed a high school to help students navigate their way to a rewarding future.​

Lead4Change empowers students to become compassionate leaders by engaging them in real-world service projects that address community needs. Through this program, students develop essential skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving, all while making a tangible impact on their surroundings. By participating in Lead4Change, our students not only enhance their leadership abilities but also learn the value of service, preparing them to be proactive and responsible citizens. Our students helped out at the Ohio University of Chillicothe, completing a long list of tasks while implementing leadership and teamwork skills!

Our students conducted a series of tasks at the VA Chillicothe Greenhouse in order to help the operation and opportunity to make new community partnerships! The students worked extremely hard this day!

Over the past month, several SOCA students have achieved significant milestones by completing the OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal, RISE Up credential, and leadership development programs. These accomplishments are more than just accolades—they represent a commitment to personal growth and future success

The OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal signifies that students have demonstrated essential professional skills such as reliability, work ethic, and problem-solving, making them valuable assets in any workplace. The RISE Up credential equips students with foundational employability skills, preparing them for careers in retail and beyond. Leadership programs further enhance students' abilities to lead with purpose and confidence.

A special commendation goes to our senior class, who have exemplified dedication and perseverance in their final month. Their hard work in earning these credentials not only enriches their resumes but also sets a strong foundation for their post-graduation endeavors. These achievements highlight the importance of seizing opportunities and striving for excellence.
