Hello Woodstock Family!
Happy March! February sure did end on a high note with the wonderful White Lotus Lion Dancers' performance at the Lunar New Year Parade and the Mini Makers Market. Thank you for coming out and supporting these fun community events.
This month is going to go quick with Spring Break at the end of the month. This week is kind of a big deal though. After what seems like months of preparation by our 3rd- 5th graders, the OBOB Tournament has finally arrived. Good luck to this year's participants!
This week we ask that you check out the info on the hiring process for our next principal and take the Community Feedback Survey. More feedback means a more accurate search for the principal that we need. Also, please sign up to volunteer for the STEAM Festival. Events do not happen without community support and this event looks so fun!

Help Hire Woodstock’s Next Principal!
PPS has started the official hiring process that you can learn about HERE. Last summer, current principal Heidi Earle was appointed as “interim” and she is a candidate for the permanent position at Woodstock with nearly 20 years of experience as an instructional leader and administrator across diverse PPS settings.
Keep in mind the next leader of Woodstock will need to navigate tough budget cuts and future school consolidation. Do you have a strong opinion who that leader should be? Does your student have a heart-warming story to share? We encourage families to share specific examples of positive collaboration from this school year. Here’s how:
Yearbooks!
Time to start thinking about yearbooks! You can submit your yearbook photos and order your student's yearbook today. Students can submit their cover designs until March 20.
Woodstock STEAM Festival
Save the Date and Volunteer!
Join us on Friday, March 13, 6-8 pm, for a fun and engaging evening of hands-on science demos and STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)! Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase.
Sign Up here to volunteer, donate a baked good, or lead a table.
Volunteer With Us
Volunteer at the PTA Clothing Closet on Monday, March 16!
Please consider volunteering for the PTA Clothing Closet. If volunteers don't help, families don't get to shop! The PTA Clothing Closet is 100% volunteer-supported and served over 1,500 students last school year!
We are looking for five to six volunteers for this rewarding volunteer opportunity. Volunteers can be parents, grandparents or community members and don't need to stay for the entire shift. Thanks for considering and helping!
Advocacy
One week left in legislative session: Tell your legislators to use reserves to prevent the harshest teacher cuts!
With the legislative session coming to an end on March 9, we are hearing that legislators are refusing to use any reserves to support schools and students in a time when we are seeing cuts in districts across the state.
Join us in calling on the legislature to release 100 million dollars from the Education Stability Fund (state reserves) to schools in the state to stabilize services for our students.
Contact your Senator and Representative today by email or phone or use this form on our website.

Game Dates: Sundays, April 12 – June 7 (No league May 24)
Time: 10 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Lents Park (Permit Pending)
Format: 5v5 ultimate. 2 games per week (Sundays).
Metro Bike Bus and Walking School Bus Lunchtime Webinar Series
As part of the Oregon Metro’s work supporting Bike Buses and Walking School Buses, we are offering a monthly lunchtime webinar series to support leaders, planners, and educators working to make it safer and more joyful for students to walk and bike to school. The series will be held once a month on the first Wednesday of the month at 12pm from March - June 2026, and will focus on practical, real world topics including quick build infrastructure, group ride safety and de escalation, activation and incentive based programming, and honest reflections from Bike Bus and Walking School Bus leaders at different stages of their journey.
