Ambler Summer Update #1

We hope you're having a fun and relaxing summer with your family! Enjoy every moment—school will be here before we know it, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back soon! The first day for students will be on Friday, August 1st.

Our theme for the 2025–2026 school year is Learning in Full Bloom.

Learning in Full Bloom reflects the academic and personal growth we aim to foster throughout the year. It embraces a growth mindset and reminds us that every child has unique talents waiting to unfold. We can’t wait to watch our students bloom and thrive in the year ahead!

Hey, my name is Danielle Gravely! I am married to my wonderful husband Chris, and we have two daughters. Our oldest child, Graclynn will be starting Middle School this year while our youngest, Ivey, will enjoy her last year before her school years start! I was born and raised here in Pickens. I love coffee and Alani energy drinks, one or the other is going to get me started for the day! I love all things bright colors and have a bright personality! I am thoroughly excited that I have been led to Ambler to get to be even just a small part of your children’s lives as they learn and grow!

I’m Stacy Simmons and I am so excited to return to my alma mater! I have been teaching for 21 years. For 17 of those years, I taught Cosmetology at PCCTC and I’ve taught elementary PE for the other 4 years. My husband, Alex, and I are blessed with two daughters, Kinsley and Audrey Kate, and Penny is our sweet, spoiled dog. We love to travel and be outdoors!

Meet the Teacher Night will take place on Tuesday, July 29th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

If you're interested in volunteering in your child’s classroom or chaperoning a field trip this year, you’ll need to complete volunteer training. We will offer two training sessions during Meet the Teacher—one at 5:30 p.m. and another at 6:30 p.m. Both will be held in the cafeteria.

We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s school t-shirt was designed by one of our very own talented students—Lakely Simmons! Ambler t-shirts will be available for pre-order during Meet the Teacher Night.

Shirts are $20 each, with Adult XXL and XXXL sizes priced at $22. Payments can be made by cash (exact change) or by check made payable to Ambler Elementary.

The final day to place your order is Friday, August 15th. Don’t miss out on showing your Ambler pride!
