MTSS Lead WeeklyUpdatesWeek of 2/9/2026

WE ARE BACK! Let's Make It Count! WE ARE BACK! Let's Make It Count!

I want to remind everyone supporting Tier 2/3 intervention that we have a lofty goal this year which is that we have 100% of student intervention plans implemented with fidelity and 70% of those students showing significant academic progress. The only way that this is possible is if we each commit to providing intervention supports with fidelity every day. While we are approaching this target and did show growth, we have inconsistencies across schools and the district. There is still time to see this goal to fruition but we must be intentional with every student, every day. If you have questions about student progress or data, please submit a request for MSCS Office Hours and someone from the team will set up time with you.

Reading Horizons Reading Horizons

Shatamara Davis hosts Open Office Hours each week on Monday and Friday from 11:00-12:00. This is a great way to get immediate questions answered. Links were most recently published in the 2/2/26 edition if you need them.

Reading Horizons Schedule

Since we were closed for snow the past ten days, we are extending the previously communicated deadline to 2/13/26. Please take a moment to share your schedule of when your school is providing dyslexia specific intervention using Reading Horizons. This is very important as the Reading Horzions team is preparing for spring on-site coaching visits, but also so that Shatamara is aware of your schedule when trying to schedule across schools.

i-Ready i-Ready

Please take a moment to review students' personalized instruction progress over the past ten days. Some students now have domains that have been turned off and will need them re-opened.

Pearson aimswebPlus Pearson aimswebPlus

You will see that many students' progress monitoring schedules are going to be out of compliance both in Pearson aimswebPlus and also in PowerBi Progress Monitoring dashboard. Pearson aimswebPlus does not recognize when we are closed for snow or holidays. Weekly schedules will pick back up this week and bi-weekly schedules will pick back up next week. There will be a data quality alert (exclamation mark) in PowerBi Progress Monitoring dashboard until the snow days are fully coded in PowerSchool (anticipated in March) and synced to our PowerBi platform.

January/February Data Team Meetings January/February Data Team Meetings

If your school was not able to hold a January or February data meeting due to the inclement weather, please know that you can conduct a single meeting for the month of January and February to be considered compliant with TDOE guidelines. Please note the revised date on your meeting schedule in the school folder and remember to upload your data team meeting agenda and minutes as well as updated CSRS to your school folder. As we just completed the Winter Universal Screener, please ensure that your student data/information matches across platforms and is documented appropriately. School folder checks will occur this week as these must be maintained monthly.

Home Literacy Reports and Family iReady Diagnostic Reports Home Literacy Reports and Family iReady Diagnostic Reports

Schools will provide Home Literacy Reports, following administration of the universal reading screener, to K-3 students scoring below the 15th percentile and are recommended for 16th-40th percentile.

These reports provide reading proficiency guidance, reading activities to use at home, and information on specific reading interventions and supports being provided as outlined in TCA 49-1-905(d). Please be sure that the iReady Diagnostic Reports are sent home to parents along with this letter to inform parents of their student's scores. Keeping parents informed of their child's progress is extremely important when students are struggling.

Progress reports are scheduled to be sent home on 2/11/2026 so this is an excellent time to send the Home Literacy Report and the Family iReady Diagnostic Reports if you did not get those sent home in January.

Grade 3 ONLY Pearson aimswebPlus Benchmark Assessment Grade 3 ONLY Pearson aimswebPlus Benchmark Assessment

February means that it is time to begin preparing to administer the Grade 3 ONLY Pearson aimswebPlus Benchmark Assessment by engaging in the training from Pearson if you have not previously administered the Grade 3 Benchmark. Register to attend sessions this month in PLZ using course #48613.
