Blue Zones at F1S
JANUARY 2026

January is "Friends at 5" Month!
How do we maintain healthy relationships? By spending time together!
In the worlds' blue zones, friends make time to get together after work and in other free time to relax and catch up with one another. What after-work friendships do you maintain? Do you invest your time in relationships that extend beyond work?
Blue Zones people who use their time to connect and unwind with friends after work have a better outlook and can navigage work challenges together, better.
This month, invite some friends to have coffee after work to relax and appreciate your relatinship as both co-workers and as friends.
Check out our Spring Moai Challenge! (Prepare to get CREATIVE...)
This month, watch for information on our Spring "Create a Moai" challenge. The new challenge will run from February 2 - April 24, 2026, and it can be an idea that YOU create! Think about fun reasons to get together that align with our Power 9 Principles, such as: Walking daily, Weekly Blue Zones Recipe Potlucks, Fellowship & Yoga/Exercise groups, Book Clubs, Weight Loss, Arts & Crafts weekly groups, etc. Some creative people are forming weekly Sewing, Line dancing, Cycling, Movie night, and Gardening groups. Your imagination and the Power-9 should guide your idea for bringing co-workers together for 10 weeks.
To lead a MOAI, click below. Find your positive pack and register your Moai by the deadline of January 23rd.

North Vista's Ambassador Uses Easy, Creative Ways to Engage Others
Ambassador Sheila Bresnan is a commited and creative Blue Zones Ambassador. She regularly gets on her school's daily announcements and send her coworkers encouragement regarding the Blue Zone Power 9 principles, and it shows. At a recent Surprise Smoothie Pop-Up event, North Vista staff were exceptionally well-aware of Blue Zones at F1S and its components.
Recently, in the month of November, F1S focused on “Loved Ones First.“ Bresnan ran with it! She talked about the importance of keeping family first as a well-being best practice on her school's announcements and then posted a giant sign in the hallway where students and teachers they could post about their loved ones as they walked past.
Being a Blue Zones Ambassador is about creatively encouraging one another. Thank you to Ms. Bresnan for her consistent focus on the well-being of her school's staff, students, and families.
