Parent Teacher Meetings will take place for all classes from senior infants to 6th class this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If you have not already done so, please book in a slot to meet with your child's teacher via the Aladdin App. In order for the meetings to run smoothly, I would kindly ask that you please arrive on time for your meeting. The meetings will be ten minutes long and it is important that this is strictly adhered to.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to our school from Wednesday 22nd - Friday 24th November.

There will be a selection of books on display in the school hall and teachers will bring their classes to have a look at some books they may wish to purchase.

The Book Fair is completely optional and should you wish to purchase a book, you will be able to do so via Aladdin. Closer to these dates, we will send out a link with a selection of the books we expect to have and their prices.

To facilitate Staff Training in the New Primary Maths Curriculum, the school will be closed on Thursday 14th December.

Over the months of November and December, we will be focusing on the core values of Empathy & Kindness to Others. We hope that by focusing on these values, we can help to create a positive and inclusive school environment, enhancing students' overall well-being. Importantly, raising the children's awareness and understanding of empathy can help to prevent bullying and conflict by encouraging understanding and tolerance among each other. We would encourage you to speak at home with your child about these values and praise them when they demonstrate empathy and kindness to others.

Many thanks to everyone who donated to the Shoebox appeal. As always, there was a large number of boxes sent in. Many thanks to everyone who brought in a box, your efforts will make a huge difference to the life of others less fortunate.

As part of the Lets Grow Initiative, Ms Byrne and some enthusiastic helpers from 4th class cleaned out the beds and prepared them for planting. They then planted some onions and garlic. They will hopefully see the fruits of their labour later in the year! Well Done!

Christmas Plays will be performed by each class in the PE Hall during the school day on Tuesday 19th December. A timetable for the day will be communicated to you in the coming weeks.

Our 3rd & 4th Class camogie players enjoyed the Mini 7s competition held at Dunganny on Wednesday 15th November. Ms Byrne was very happy with their performance during the blitz, well done Girls!

Well done to the boys who participated in the Mini 7s Hurling Competition, they are now through to the finals day happening at Dunganny this Monday at 3pm. We wish you all the best!

The Girls and Boys football teams will take on Kildalkey this week in the Peadar Lehane Cup. Both matches are at home this Tuesday. Kick off 12pm at the Summerhill GAA pitch. Many thanks to the parents who can help us with lifts on the day, it is really appreciated.

The Boys team finished with a draw against Ballivor last week while the girls team came away with a very impressive win also against Ballivor last week. Well done to both teams!

Well done to all the children who participated in the Cross Country Trials this week. They all tried their very best and I was blown away by how well they all did. Congratulations to the children who qualified. The competition will take place on Wednesday 22 nd November at Fairyhouse. Best of luck to all the boys and girls representing Dangan on the day.
