We made it through another chilly week! We want to start by sending a huge thank you to all of our parents and guardians for braving the cold during drop-off and pick-up. Your patience and extra care in the parking lot keep our students safe, and we truly appreciate your resilience alongside us.

Tuesday, Feb 3: 4th-Grade Ski Trip – We are so excited for our 4th graders to hit the slopes! Please ensure your skiers come dressed in layers and are ready for a day of outdoor fun.

Thursday, Feb 5: PTA Meeting – Join us in the
media center or on Zoom at 7:00 pm for our monthly meeting. Your voice is vital to our school community, and we’d love to see you there.

🍿 Popcorn for a Purpose

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser! This delicious event will directly support FETCH and our ongoing Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives. These programs are essential in helping our students build the empathy, resilience, and connection they need to thrive.You can find the details, including how to order and sell further down in this newsletter.

Congratulations to our Winners! Frieda Mendel, our 5th grade winner, is heading to the Oakland Schools Scripps Regional Spelling Bee at Oakland University on March 14th to take on the best spellers in grades 5–8 - Good luck Frieda!

Having a Win-‐Win Attitude means:

1. Seeing life as a cooperative arena, not a competitive one.

2. Balancing courage for getting what you want with consideration for what others want.

3. Seeking successful, productive interactions by “filling others’ buckets/making deposits on others’ emotional bank accounts”.

We're hosting a Double Good Fundraiser to support River & SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) Supplies! There will be a top selling staff member award and top student award!

Our next skate night is Wednesday, February 11th, from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Bonaventure is open just to Hillside Elementary and their families, which is a wonderful family-friendly evening! The cost is $13, which includes skates. Spectators are always free! Address: 24505 Halstead Rd - Farmington Hills

If you are interested in helping plan the 5th grade End of the Year Party, please fill out this form by January 23rd and the PTA will gather the results and share with all. This will give the committee a starting point for planning.The PTA sponsors the 5th grade party with a $600 donation, but this event is not planned by the PTA. The 5th Grade Promotion and Party are scheduled for Thursday, June 4th.

Elementary students will have the option to purchase a second slice of pizza on Little Caesars Pizza Day (every other Thursday - Feb. 12 & 26). The first slice is free, and the cost for an additional slice is $2.25.
