Moseley Mustangs Newsletter
Mustang Express | September 21
π¬ A Note from Dr. Kari Roan
Mustang Families:
Welcome back to our 7th week of school! This past week, we held class meetings during Advisory. We reviewed our RIDE expectations (see the button below), and Sgt. Bryant spent a few moments reminding us of the importance of safe choices. We talked about how part of being equipped for success means checking email: remind your Mustang to check their email and read this newsletter as there is some important info in here that they will want to know (hint: Minga rewards have launched!).
Please spend some time reviewing Sgt. Bryant's reminders in his Safety Second with Sgt. Bryant notes below, and please also commit to spending a bit of time each week opening our RIDE expectations and reviewing what Moseley Magnificence looks like in classrooms, in office spaces, and all across our campus. Our partnership is what gives us Moseley Momentum!
Remember that it is time to use this week's version of our weekly agenda (see below)! Let's make this a great week!
Let's RIDE!

π This Week at a Glance
Our Plan on a Page (campus improvement plan) is so much more than just words on a page. Each week, notice the goals and items featured here in order to see the things that matter to us most coming to life!
Together We Champion
We will use data and AVID strategies to drive responsive teaching while ensuring each student connects to our campus through activities, leadership, and intentional behavior support.
SO MANY WAYS TO PUSH MUSTANGS TO MAGNIFICENCE!
Click the weekly agenda below to create a copy for your student to keep track of their assignments during the week. Organization is a key AVID tenet, so sitting together to go over this at the end of each day and the week teaches Mustangs to be equipped for success.
Interested in starting a club? Follow these steps!
Together We Cultivate
Our goal at Moseley: To create meaningful connections and comprehensive support systems that help students excel while building authentic partnerships with families and community
Moxie the Mustang brings us all together!

Together We Empower
Our goal at Moseley: To be a place where staff develops leadership capacity, builds meaningful connections, and creates a culture of celebration where everyone grows professionally and personally.
Staff participated in "Conference Calls" (a term borrowed from Dr. Mullins at Reynolds), a time where Moseley staff could come during their conference period to get some additional learning. This session was focused on answering the question: How can Minga help us ensure that our students learn at high levels? We made a KWLA chart based on our learning: K - what we already knew , W- what we wanted to know, L- what we learned during the mini session, and A- how we would apply that learning! KWLA charts are essential AVID strategies, so ask your student to tell you about when they use these charts in their classes!
Together We Prosper
Our goal at Moseley: To establish Moseley as a model of excellence through research-based mentorship, comprehensive support systems, and practices that create Moseley Magnificence and Momentum while strengthening our Prosper community connections
We are unveiling our Minga Rewards! Encourage your students to check their email and their Minga dashboards for living into our RIDE beliefs!
To maximize time in class and to increase front office efficiency, please see the updated front office procedures here! We welcome your feedback as we continue to litigate and improve our processes!
π Counselorβs Corner
This Weekβs Highlights: Parents & Guardians:
π¬ Stay tuned for more details about our October 20 parent event! This evening is presented in collaboration with the admin team and is in response to the needs of the beginning of year counseling survey!
Wellness Reminder: Study Space Setup
Tip: π Designate a quiet, organized space for homework that's free from distractions. Having the same spot each day helps your child's brain get into "learning mode" more easily and improves focus. BONUS TIP: Encourage your student to open/pull out their weekly agenda (from above) to reference and cross out during nightly study time.
