What a great way to kick off the school year! Friday night was a special evening for Levelland ISD as we officially cut the ribbon on the new HCCU Stadium and welcomed our community to Meet Our Lobos. It was exciting to see our Lobos, Loboettes, Cheerleaders, Band, and families come together to celebrate the students who represent our district with so much pride. Seeing the stands filled with families, friends, and community members was a wonderful reminder of what makes Levelland so special. Our schools are stronger because of the people who continue to show up, cheer loudly, and support our students. Thank you to everyone who joined us Friday night and helped make it such a memorable evening. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to many more opportunities to come together! We cannot thank HCCU and their staff for all they do to make Levelland ISD a great place for students find their place, discover their purpose, and create their future!

Proud to be a Lobo,

Dr. Don Heseman, Superintendent

We are helping our first-year educators find their place! Our New Teacher Academy enables our first-year teachers feel supported, encouraged, & ready for a fantastic year! Throughout this year-long academy, our newest educators will receive guidance and support as they strengthen communication with fellow educators & parents, sharpen their organizational and teaching skills, and build confidence in classroom management. Through meaningful, hands-on activities, they’ll be prepared for the real-life situations that come with leading a classroom each day. We already know these educators are fantastic, and New Teacher Academy gives them another layer of support as they grow, learn, & find their own strengths in the classroom. At Levelland ISD, we believe great teachers deserve great support! We are so grateful for our mentors and leaders (Terri White, James Daniel, Gracie Ruiz, Matthew Birdwell and Rodney Caddell) who pour into our newest educators, and we couldn’t be prouder to have these teachers as part of our Lobo family! Here’s to learning, growing, and an amazing first year!

ABC hosted their Back to School Night and it was a circus! Literally! In the ABC Big Top our lucky kids will find a ring master, a lion tamer, some acrobats, tightrope walkers, and more.... but what they'll find the most of is LOVE! It's going to be a great year as our ABC educators will jump through hoops to help all ABC students grow and learn! We also send out a huge thank you to our LMS Cheer Squad for shining the spotlight on every single kid!

Our families showed up and we are so thankful! There’s something special about seeing our schools filled with students, parents, grandparents, and loved ones! Thank you to all of our families who took the time to come out, get involved, meet our teachers, and help us kick off another great school year. At Capitol, we know it takes all of us working together. Welcome to TEAM CAPITOL! And YOUR STORY STARTS HERE AT SOUTH! Our students are finding their place as they make new friends, discover new talents, learn new things, and begin writing their own success stories. Thank you, families, for being present, involved, and invested in your child’s education. Your involvement matters, and together we are helping every student find their place!

It's Levelland tradition for seniors to kick off an unforgettable year! Our Class of 2027 seniors and their parents gathered for Senior Sunrise Breakfast, and the excitement was everywhere! There was a great crowd, lots of smiles, and plenty of Lobo pride made this morning the perfect beginning to senior year.

Seniors, this is your year! It's a year to make memories, celebrate milestones, enjoy every moment, and FIND YOUR PLACE as you prepare for everything waiting beyond graduation. And to our senior parent- we thank you for showing up, cheering them on, and being part of these special moments. Class of 2027, it’s going to be a great last year!

What a great way to kick off a brand-new school year at Levelland ISD! From excited smiles & welcoming hugs to new classrooms, new friends & new adventures, our campuses were full of Lobo pride today! This year is all about helping every student find your place! A place to belong, a place to grow, a place to learn & a place to shine. We love our students!

Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. Henderson, and Ms. Marsh’s reading classes got back into the swing of learning with a fun Back-to-Scoot activity!

Mrs. Saenz’s class is off to a wonderful start as students spend time getting to know their new classroom family and finding their place! Through student photos, conversations, and activities, they are learning something important: that everyone has a place, everyone belongs, and everyone matters. Mrs. Saenz says, "My classroom just wouldn’t be complete without each unique student who walks through the door. This is what Find Your Place is all about. I am helping every student feel seen, valued, connected, and an important part of their school family." What a great way to begin the year: finding your place and knowing you belong! Thank you, Mrs. Saenz for all the love and we look forward to seeing your students learn and grow!

Mrs. Cogdill and Coach George kicked off the LMS school year with some fun, hands-on labs! Thank you for creating engaging learning experiences and making learning fun and memorable for our students!

We have another High-Five Friday brag on one of our own! We have to brag on one of our own! Congratulations to South Elementary teacher Nancy Southerland, who was recently installed as the 2026–2027 Texas State President of Kappa Kappa Iota, a professional organization for educators! Mrs. Southerland represented Levelland ISD at the 2026 Kappa Kappa Iota National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she also received the VIP Award! This special recognition honors members who go above and beyond through leadership, service, professional development, membership, and involvement. Kappa Kappa Iota has been supporting educators since 1921, providing opportunities for teachers to connect, grow professionally, serve their communities, and receive scholarships and classroom support. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom—members nationwide volunteered more than 61,000 hours and contributed over $1.1 million to local charities last year! For Mrs. Southerland, Kappa is about educators supporting educators and making a difference together. Her theme as Texas State President is “Come Together with Kappas,” and we think it perfectly reflects her heart for education, service, and supporting others. Congratulations, Mrs. Southerland! We are so proud to have you representing South Elementary, Levelland ISD, and educators across the great state of Texas!

We are so excited to see our Lobo flags flying proudly around Levelland on game days! We send out a huge THANK YOU to all of our Levelland businesses who are flying a Lobo flag and showing their support for our students, athletes, coaches, band, cheerleaders, and everyone who works so hard to represent Levelland ISD! These flags are about so much more than school spirit. When our students see Lobo flags flying throughout town, they see a community that believes in them. They know their hometown is behind them, cheering them on and proud of what they accomplish in the classroom, on the field, on the court, on the stage, and everywhere in between. We know this support matters. We love the connection between our schools and our community, and this reminds our kids that they have an entire town in their corner. Thank you, Levelland, for showing up for our Lobos! We can't wait to watch that Lobo Pride spread all across town! We also send a big thank you to our LHS Cheer Squad for helping deliver these flags! https://files.smartsites.parentsquare.com/8584/flagvideo.mp4

'Twas the day before school started, and all through the halls, Sundown State Bank cooked burgers for all! There's not a better way to kick off a brand-new school year than with burgers, fellowship & a whole lot of community love! We send out a HUGE THANK YOU to Sundown State Bank for firing up the grills and cooking delicious burgers for everyone of our Levelland ISD employees! Our employees pour their hearts into our students every day, and it means so much when our community pours a little love right back to us. We are incredibly grateful for community partners like Sundown State Bank who continue to show up for our schools, our staff & our students. Thank you for helping us start the school year with full hearts and full stomachs!

Community support means so much to us! We want to send a huge thank you to United Supermarkets for proudly putting Levelland ISD (and SPC) on your wall for every shopper to see! Seeing our district represented in a place that serves so many of our families is a wonderful reminder that our schools and our community are truly connected. It takes an entire community to help our students Find Your Place, Discover Your Purpose & Create Your Future, and we are incredibly thankful for local businesses like United Supermarkets that stand beside our schools, support our kids & show their Lobo pride. When our community supports our schools, our students see that their whole town is cheering them on. Thank you, United Supermarkets, for being part of the Levelland ISD family & for investing in the future of our kids. We are better together!
