'Tis the Season 🔔

Hark! the district angels sing

Vacation's coming; it's a thing.

We're still teaching, the kids are learning,

For rest and family we all are yearning.

A letter from our Director

Dear Weldon City Schools Scholars, Community, and Staff,

We hope this newsletter finds you in high spirts as we embrace the holiday season. As we reflect on the school year thus far, we cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for our incredible support during the year. As a student services team, we are focused on contributing to the quality of the students' learning experience and their academic success, by ensuring they are best equipped to thrive in their learning environment. Our student counselors, social worker, and healthcare service providers continue to support our school community.

As the calendar year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a joyous holiday season. May your days be filled with laughter, love, and precious moments shared with loved ones. As we eagerly await the beginning of a new year, we are filled with excitement and anticipation for all the exceptional things the upcoming year will bring our district.

From the Weldon City Schools' Student Services Team, we wish you and yours a wonderful, joyful, safe, and heartwarming holiday season!

December 1, 2024 Opening

Changes on the 2025–26 FAFSA® Form

The 2025–26 FAFSA changes includes the following:

  • The Who's My FAFSA Parent? wizard is an online tool to help dependent students identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on their FAFSA form.
  • The label for the homelessness question changed from "Student Other Circumstances" to "Student Homelessness."
  • If the student selects "Yes" to have their school determine their eligibility for a Direct Unsubsidized Loan only, and then selects "Continue." a pop-up window appears warning the student that they will not be eligible for most federal student aid.
  • A new page confirms if their information was successfully matched with IRS records to request federal tax information to help complete the financial sections.
