Special 8th Grade Trip to Greensboro
Is you child is going to the Women of the Shoah Memorial and the International Museum of Civil Rights with Coach Brown, Mr. Honeycutt, Coach Hensley, and Coach Greb?
If so, $45 is due to Coach Brown on Monday.
Students with Discretionary Admission (DAR)
This is a reminder to parents of students with a DAR (Discretionary Admission Release).
Please note that the DAR application window opened on February 15th. Because Infinite Campus automatically enrolls students in their zoned school for the upcoming year, it is essential that continued-placement DARs are processed promptly so those students are correctly attached to their current school in the system. The earlier these continued-placement DARs are completed, the smoother the transition will be.

AIG/Advanced Learner Transition to High School
Last week, we had the opportunity to meet with families of our AIG and advanced learners to discuss the transition to high school. During the meeting, we reviewed important information about course options, expectations for advanced coursework, academic planning, and ways students can continue to challenge themselves as they move into ninth grade.
We know that the transition to high school is an exciting milestone, and we want both students and families to feel informed and confident about the next steps. If you were unable to attend — or would simply like to review the information again — you can access the slideshow presentation from the meeting at the link below:
Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Roop (cynthia.roop@bcsemail.org) if you have additional questions about advanced coursework or your student’s academic plan. We are excited to support our learners as they take this next step!
