A note from Principal Ballard
Dear Families,
As we move further into the school year, I want to remind you of a few key priorities guiding our work.
We’re focused on making sure our curriculum is fully aligned with state standards, so each lesson builds on the last and prepares students for what’s ahead. Teachers are also writing clear learning objectives that help students understand what they’re learning and why.
Another big focus is academic vocabulary—helping students use the right words to think, speak, and write with confidence. You may notice your child using more “big” or subject-specific words at home—please celebrate that growth!
How you can help at home:
Ask your child to explain what they learned at school each day.
Encourage them to use new vocabulary in conversations.
- Read together and talk about interesting words or ideas.
- Ask your child what the word OBJECTIVE means.
Objective- what we are learning today; the purpose of the lesson/activity
Thank you for your continued partnership. When we work together, our students thrive.

Attendance Matters
Check the back of your child's folder, or pocket, when he/she is absent to update the Attendance Tracker. Please aim to send your child to school each day. If your child is not sick, please send them to school.
Regular school attendance matters, but if your student misses school, you can submit your student's absence online using the Parent Absence Note Form
WALKERS
We understand that older siblings may need to walk our kiddos home. Please be sure your child's teacher is aware of this arrangement. We have a new form to be completed by parents/guardians of students that are walked home by siblings that are under 18 years of age. Once the teacher is made aware, we will send home the form.
