Lower School - 12/11
Lower School Update - December 11, 2025
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
We are wrapping up our winter NWEA testing this week. Student score reports will be sent home by the end of next week. Please note that if your child has been sick this week, they may not have all of their NWEA scores, as it is our Lower School policy that we typically do not schedule test make-ups.

Finally, please remember to send your child’s snow gear home next Friday so it can be washed and enjoyed over Christmas break. Thank you for your partnership and support during this busy and joy-filled season!

STAFF INTRODUCTION
"Hi everyone, my name is Colette Winn and I am currently in my 29th year at MCA. I received my Education Degree from Minnesota State Mankato and my Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from St. Mary’s in Minneapolis. I have a heart for Primary students; I taught Pre-K for 13 years before moving down the hall to 1st grade.
MCA is a family tradition for me. My husband, Buddy Winn, was a student here and later served as the Dean of Students in the Upper School. My two stepchildren, Nick and Hope, also attended MCA.
In the summer, I teach Lego classes for the Youth Enrichment League. I’ve taught Lego classes as well as the Crazy 8’s Math Club for MCA’s after-school program. One of the highlights of each day for me is getting to teach my students God’s Word in Bible class." -Colette Winn
CHAPEL HIGHLIGHTS
Ms. Long, one of our paras and a school parent, shared an uplifting message about embracing the God-given qualities that make us who we are and recognizing the beauty of God’s design in others. Students were encouraged to celebrate their individuality while honoring the uniqueness of those around them, knowing that God intentionally crafted each person for His purposes.
WEEKLY PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for creating me with love, purpose, and detail.
Remind me each day that I am unique, valuable, and wonderfully made in Your image.
When I feel unsure of myself, help me see the strengths and gifts You placed inside me.
Give me confidence to try new things, courage to face challenges, and wisdom to make good choices.
Teach me to appreciate who I am and to respect the differences in others— because You made each of us special in our own way.
Help me use my talents to bring kindness, joy, and hope to the world around me.
Thank you for walking with me today and always.
In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen.
