MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Community,
"We made it! For the first time in what feels like forever, we actually completed a full, five-day week of school. I know the consistency was a shock to the system for students and staff alike (and probably for you, too!), but it was great to get back into a rhythm. Now that we’ve remembered what a full week feels like, it’s time to look ahead.
I know it is difficult to think about next year already, but your student will be selecting courses very soon. As you discuss options at home, here is a quick guide on who to contact for help:
Ask the Content Teacher: For specific questions about course levels (e.g., 'Should I take Honors or Regular?') or curriculum difficulty.
Ask the School Counselor: For big-picture questions about college pathways, career interests, and checking graduation requirements.
IMPORTANT COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS (CCP) PRESENTATION:
For anyone interested in taking college credit courses either on campus at CHS, on a college campus (ex. Lakeland, Kent, Lake Erie) or online through a college, please plan on attending our information meeting on Thursday, February 12th at 6:00 pm in the CMS LGIR. This meeting is especially important for any student interested in taking college credit courses (CCP) for the first time. Both student and parent should plan on attending if possible.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our final conference night of the year is February 12. If your student has not made satisfactory progress in a course, please prioritize scheduling a conference with their teacher for that evening. The link to conference sign up is posted below.
Stay warm,
Mr. Tomco
Susanna Crosby, Grade 12
CHS STUDENT COUNCIL
Student Council will be selling carnations for $1 each during all lunch periods from February 4 through February 11. Carnations purchased will be delivered on February 12 during 3rd period. This is a great opportunity to send a thoughtful message to friends or classmates—don’t miss out!
CHS AFTER PROM & PTO
Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 10 at 7:00 pm in the CHS Media Center. Please join us to learn more about the many ways to get involved with our organization to benefit CHS students and staff! Our main topic of discussion will be the Junior/Senior After Prom event. Hope to see you there!

GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT, CCP PRESENTATION FEB 12
26-27 SCHEDULING PRESENTATIONS
School Counselors will be giving grade level scheduling presentations next week. Please be aware of the following scheduling timelines:
- Feb 11th: Grade Level Scheduling Presentations
- Feb 12th: College Credit Plus (CCP) Presentation
- Feb 17th: Student course selection access opens in Infinite Campus
- Feb 27th: Student course selection access closes in Infinite Campus
Course lists will be sent home with students following the February 11th scheduling presentations. Please review and discuss with your child course selection for the 26-27 school year.
Teachers will make course recommendations for the upcoming school year and conference with students. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for students to discuss their academic goals and explore potential options. If a student disagrees with a teacher's recommendation after a discussion, they should complete a Course Recommendation Override form, which must be signed by both the teacher and a parent/guardian and turned in to their School Counselor.
Mrs. Heather Patterson: Class of 2027
Mrs. Karin Hillman: Class of 2028
Mr. Timothy Hurlbut: Class of 2029
Mrs. Dawn Tupaz: Class of 2030/2031
We encourage students and parents to actively participate in the scheduling process and take advantage of the resources available to them, including teacher and counselor input.
