PTA Weekly Update
September 16, 2024

November 10, 2025
Good morning Huskie Families,
The first snow of the season arrived! (Were you ready for it?) We're looking forward to honoring our veterans at a breakfast and assembly this Tuesday, November 11. Thank you SO much to the parent volunteers who are helping to bring this special event to life.
Please note several events and activities coming up soon: the K - 2 Reading Night is on Thursday, 11/13 and we have a Dough Raising at Panera on 11/20. Please also read the details for our upcoming Multicultural Day - we're asking students to get creative and make posters to decorate and educate others about their heritage. We also need parent volunteers to help run this fun event. Read on for more!
As always, check our website for all things related to the Spring Brook PTA!
Have a good week!
Come to the K - 2 Reading Night on November 13
Support Our PE Program!
Have you heard of Sports Stacking? It's an exciting sport where students stack and unstack 12-specially designed cups (Speed Stacks). As Mr. Vine kicks off a Sport Stacking unit in PE this week, we want to let you know that the same Speed Stack sets and StackMats he uses in class are available for purchase. Like most parents, you probably want to keep your kids active (and off screens) during the winter months - consider purchasing a set! Proceeds help support our gym program. See the attachment for details.
Spring Brook Goes Around the World for Multicultural Day
Friday, December 5th is Multicultural Day at Spring Brook! During the school day, students will "travel" to four different countries including Taiwan, Moldova, Germany and Palestine to learn about them and participate in a craft or activity specific to that country's culture.
Parent Volunteers:
We need your help! To make this day run smoothly for our students, we need parents to help facilitate crafts and activities at each country's station. Sign up here!
Student Posters:
As a way to represent even more countries that are part of our Spring Brook culture, we'd also like to see students create a poster representing their heritage. Last year, the hallway was filled with vibrant, detailed posters representing many different countries, and they were beautiful! The posters will be displayed around the hallway to the gym for students and parents to admire.
Use the poster guidelines below and turn it by Monday, December 1st. Make sure posters are labeled with student name, class, and contact email. We can't wait to see what you create!
Community Relations
A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
As the PTA looks for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students, we are expanding our sponsorship program for events during the 2025-2026 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Muryan.

Dough Raising: November 20 at Panera
Dough Raising Events are an opportunity to join with others in our Spring Brook Community for fun, food, and a little fundraising. A portion of sales during these events are donated by our community partners to support the efforts of the Spring Brook Elementary PTA.
The next Dough Raising will be at the Panera by Showplace on 95th Street on Thursday, November 20. 20% of all proceeds will go back to our school!
Where: Panera, 2775 Showplace Drive
When: ALL DAY, Thursday, November 20
Mention Spring Brook at check out. Or use code FUND4U at panerabread.com, in the Panera app, or at the in-cafe kiosk.
The Tile Project Starts Soon!
One of our favorite fundraising projects of the year, the Tile Project, is your child's opportunity to create art that will hang forever on the walls of Spring Brook. Encourage your child to leave their legacy by submitting a piece of artwork that will be printed on a ceramic tile and hung along the halls of the school. (Students love to walk throughout the school and find their tile art!)
Information on how to register and complete this fun project is coming soon!
Pre-Holiday Spirit Wear Sale
Coming soon: the latest Huskie spirit wear drop! The PTA will be opening the spirit wear store soon with pj pants and hats. Be sure and stay tuned if you're shopping for holiday gifts.
