Forest families,

It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter of this school year! I want to thank each one of you for the ample amount of volunteering and assisting you have done this year. From Watch D.O.G.S., popcorn helpers, classroom helpers, and many more; we appreciate your support. We have had SO many fun events this year, not only for our students, but for our families as well. I would like to thank Forest Parent Club for all of their hard work for these events.

If you have a current student at Forest and do not plan to return this fall please call or email Ms. Annie in the office. If you have an incoming Kindergartener, please complete the online registration forms in PowerSchool and upload your documents by June 5th so your new student is active in PowerSchool before our system rolls over in July. Contact Ms. Annie in the office with any questions or concerns. APrusakiewicz@riverviewschools.com

Parents, don't forget to pick up any medication, inhalers, or epipens from your child's teacher or from the office before we close. Any medication that is not picked up will be disposed.

Have a relaxing and enjoyable summer. We look forward to seeing you this fall.

Go Pirates!

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share a little insight into how our class placements are made — because we know how much families care about this process!

Our teachers and staff put tremendous thought and care into building balanced, thriving classrooms. Each placement decision considers a wide range of factors, including gender balance, academic levels, behavioral needs, and students' individualized plans (IEPs and 504s). Our teachers also collaborate closely year after year, maintaining detailed records to ensure that the social dynamics of each classroom set every child up for success.

Because so many factors are carefully woven together — and because one change can have a ripple effect across many placements — we are unable to honor individual teacher requests. Please know that this is not a reflection of your child's needs being overlooked. Quite the opposite! Every student is thoughtfully considered as part of the bigger picture.

Thank you for trusting us with this important process. We are confident that each child will be placed in an environment where they can grow and thrive.

Forest Elementary’s fourth grade students recently brought history to life through the exciting Living Wax Museum Project, led by fourth grade teacher Mrs. Laura Grunwald.

As part of the project, students selected and researched a historical figure of their choice. Throughout the process, students practiced important research and writing skills by reading about their person, identifying key facts, creating informational posters, and writing detailed essays.

On Thursday, May 14th, the hard work truly came alive as students transformed into their historical figures by dressing in costume and presenting speeches to visitors. Forest students, staff members, parents, and family members had the opportunity to walk through the “museum” and hear students share fascinating facts and stories about the influential people they portrayed.

From athletes and inventors to presidents and activists, students showcased a wide variety of historical figures while demonstrating confidence, creativity, and public speaking skills. Guests were impressed by the students’ knowledge, effort, and enthusiasm throughout the event.

The Living Wax Museum was a wonderful educational experience that combined research, writing, creativity, and presentation skills in a fun and memorable way. Forest Elementary is proud of all the fourth grade students for their outstanding work and dedication to the project.

Forest Elementary Color Fun Run a Bright Success

On Friday, May 29th, students and staff at Forest Elementary School enjoyed a colorful day of fun, fitness, and school spirit during the annual Color Fun Run, organized by Mrs. Kim Ng.

The entire school headed outside to “Run Like Forest” while parents and staff members lined the course ready to toss colorful chalk powder onto the runners and walkers. Students laughed, ran, and walked their way through the course, ending the event covered from head to toe in bright colors.

Forest’s mascot, Bucky, was on hand cheering on participants and helping keep excitement high throughout the event. With perfect weather and smiling faces everywhere, the Fun Run quickly became a highlight of the school year.

At the end of the run, the Riverview Fire Department brought a fire engine to the school grounds and helped hose off the colorful students, adding even more excitement to an already unforgettable day.

It was truly an amazing time had by all. Thank you to Mrs. Ng for all of her hard work and dedication in organizing such a fun and successful event for the students and staff of Forest Elementary School.

Courtesy Clothes Closet

Are your child's clothing drawers overflowing? Does your child have clothing that does not fit any longer? We are looking for gently used items for our Courtesy Closet. Items would be available for students that need spare clothes during the school day. For those spills during lunch, in STEAM or for when students accidently fall into puddles or mud outside. Items for children in grades K-2 are in high demand. Stretch pants, running pants and leggings are most desirable. Please drop off donations to the office. Thank you so much!
