Principal's Message:
Happy First Three Days of School, Giesinger Parents and Guardians! 💙🦅
WOW! What a wonderful start to the school year! Thank you for helping make our first three days so special.
All of the hard work, preparation, and planning is worth it when we see your students’ smiling faces walking through our hallways each day. Giesinger is truly such a happy place, and I feel incredibly proud to call it my home. We hope you are just as proud to call Giesinger your child’s elementary school!
Our theme this year is “Get Your Eagle On!” 🦅 It represents the pride, excitement, and commitment we want our students, staff, and families to feel about being part of the Giesinger community.
We also have some exciting news to celebrate! This year’s TEA Accountability Ratings have been released, and Giesinger increased from a C to a B+, earning an overall score of 88! 🎉 Even more exciting, Giesinger earned FOUR distinctions! We are incredibly proud of the hard work that made this growth possible.
At Giesinger, we are dedicated to providing high-quality instruction while supporting the whole child. We also know that learning doesn’t begin and end at the school doors—it starts at home. Thank you for the time, energy, encouragement, reading, practicing, and extra hours you put into your child’s education. Your partnership matters, and this success belongs to our entire Giesinger community!
This week’s newsletter is packed with new information, important reminders, and updates, so please take a few minutes to read through it.
As always, please email me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a conference. Our school community is an extension of your family, and we want to do everything within our control to keep you informed, connected, and up to date on all the happenings at Giesinger.
Thank you for trusting us with your little Eagles each day. We are off to a great start, and I can’t wait to see all that this year has in store!
Get Your Eagle On! 💙🦅

Updated Dismissal Procedures
NEW WALKER DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Due to the increased number of walkers and people walking across the front porch during car rider, we are making an important change to our walker dismissal procedures. Beginning Monday, August 17th, we will have TWO walker exit locations to help make dismissal safer and more efficient.
NEIGHBORHOOD WALKER GATE
If you live in the neighborhood or apartments on White Oak Blvd., your child will exit through our existing walker gate — the gate facing the neighborhood.
EAGLE WALKER GATE
If you do NOT live in the neighborhood or apartments on White Oak Blvd., please park at the church and walk to pick up your child from the Eagle Walker Gate.
Families parking at the church will pick up on the right side of the school at the gate by the eagle statue labeled EAGLE WALKER GATE.
ACTION REQUIRED
Please complete the form below by Sunday, August 16th, and let us know which walker gate your child will use for dismissal.
New walker dismissal procedures will begin Monday, August 17th.
Completing the form will help us make sure every student is sent to the correct dismissal gate.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we make this change to keep dismissal safe, organized, and efficient for all of our Eagles!
CAR RIDERS:
Car rider dismissal will continue to get faster and smoother each day! 🚗💙 Please plan to be in the car rider line by 3:10 PM.
Once the car rider line has cleared, after 3:30 PM, parents will need to park, come inside, and show a photo ID to pick up their child.
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, efficient, and moving!
BUS RIDERS:
PK and Kindergarten parents and guardians: An approved adult must be at the bus stop every day to receive your child from the bus. Please show your Yellow Bus sign.
If an approved adult is not present at the bus stop, your child will be returned to Giesinger Elementary.
Breakfast- Will be served starting at 7:15-7:55, unless there is a late bus.
If your student eats at school, you must get them to school on time.

Volunteering on Campus or for Field Trips
Please remember that in order to volunteer on campus (reading to a class, going on a field trip, helping, etc...), parents must have completed the Volunteer Background check for the district. This must be completed each year for every school where you will volunteer so if you have students at 3 different schools, you must complete it for all 3 schools. See link below.
Explore the Parent Portal
Parents can access resources through the Realize account, which allows them to see current lessons and stay connected to what students are learning throughout the year. They can also preview upcoming content and review previously taught skills to support learning at home.
A key feature is the Visual Learning Animations—these are short, “how-to” style videos that break down math concepts step by step in a student-friendly way.
This is a powerful platform that should be intentionally shared with families so they can better support student understanding and success outside of the classroom. The teacher must share access to the Parent Portal from their Savvas Realize account.
💙 Community Support for Giesinger Families
Throughout the school year, Giesinger Elementary partners with various community organizations to provide additional support and resources for our students and families. These opportunities may include assistance with holiday gifts, school supplies, clothing, food, and other family needs.
If your family may benefit from additional support this school year, please complete the form below. Our Giesinger team will follow up with more information as opportunities and resources become available.
Please know that all information shared will be handled with care and confidentiality. 💙
