Growing Kindness: CCA Service Week
During the week of April 20th, CCA students will be heading out (and staying in!) to serve our community through these impactful projects:
- K, 2nd, & 4th Grade: Visiting residents at local senior centers.
- 1st Grade: Decorating meal bags for Project Angel Heart.
- 3rd Grade: Assembling birthday kits for the Salvation Army.
- 5th Grade: Packing weekend food bags for the Parker Task Force.
- 6th Grade: Making tie blankets for Colorado Children’s Hospital.
- 7th Grade: Performing cleanup along our local trails.
- 8th Grade: Sorting medical supplies at Project C.U.R.E.
Many thanks to the Board's Culture & Climate committee for coordinating these projects!
The Fly Like an Eagle (FLAE) team is excited to celebrate Growing Kindness Week within CCA. Students will have the opportunity to celebrate kindness and the spirit of giving with their fellow Eagles throughout the week.
How You Can Help
We need your support to make these projects a success! Please consider contributing during our Collection Week (April 13–17) by:
- Purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist.
- "Adopting" a blanket by purchasing fleece material for our 6th graders to assemble.

CCA Connections
Thursday, March 26 at 8:15am
Join us for CCA Connections!
At Cherry Creek Academy, we believe that data is a powerful tool for academic excellence. Join us for our upcoming CCA Connections event where we will give community members an overview of the various assessments administered throughout the year. We will provide clarity on what these tests measure, how the data is used, and—most importantly—what it means for your child.
As always, there will be time for questions about this topic and anything else on your mind!
Volunteer Hour Reminder
Reminder - log your volunteer time on Track It Forward. Every hour counts!
CCA will be hosting the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, April 10. All volunteers who have logged 75% of their required family hours by March 31 will receive an invitation on April 1.
Morning Enrichment Creativity Spotlight
Morning Enrichment sessions are open before school and take place in the first floor Technology room. Students are invited to engage in free-choice activities including painting, Dash robotics, iPad/ chromebook work, and creating with recycled materials.
This week 2nd grader Josiah Thornton went above and beyond when he created a 3 dimensional dinosaur sculpture with moving limbs, tail and jaw. Josiah came to Morning Enrichment each day and worked to improve his design over the course of the week. He is still adding refinements to his kinetic sculpture, and will be presenting his project to his class in Library/ Enrichment on March 27th.
Josiah’s problem solving skills, creativity and perseverance are an inspiration to us all. Congratulations Josiah!
