HOOKS SCHOOL UPDATES
Polar Express Family Movie Night and Toy/Food Drive
Last Friday, we had a Polar Express Family Movie Night and Toy/Food Drive. It was a beautiful night of community, family and spreading joy as we head into the holiday season. Everyone loved the movie, enjoyed some popcorn, juice and learned about the importance of giving, loving, sharing and caring for one another!
STEM Week Activities
Grade 1 loved getting to celebrate STEM week through the various different STEM stations available Wednesday morning! They were able to practice using coding skills through robotic mice, practice their engineering skills through creating paper chains, and practice their science skills in learning about and applying the topics of balancing and weights to successfully balance a paper and pencil on just one finger!
Learning About Habitats
Second graders have been continuing to learn, read, and write about habitats! This week we finished up water habitats by drawing a visual representation of an ocean, pond, lake, river, swamp, or tide pool. We then used our visuals to write a paragraph about it with an engaging topic sentence, details and a conclusion sentence. We love becoming habitat experts!
First Published Books
Third graders have been busy researching and drafting their informational books about the "First Thanksgiving." Next week they will publish their books using Book Creator.
Comparison War
4th graders in Ms. Hawthorne’s math class practiced their comparison skills by playing “Comparison War.” They were given cards in multiple forms and had to determine together which amount was greater. Once students were observed to be on the track to mastery, they were challenged by having to round their numbers to different place values and then compare. Students worked hard to build their math thinking, explain themselves verbally, and look at problems in new ways.
KELLY SCHOOL UPDATES

1st and 2nd grade students participated in our annual Kelly School STEM Fair! Students participated in activities such as Index Card Towers, Paper Chains, Marshmallow Structures, Cup Stacking, and more! Celebrating Gratitude in the Wolfpack

This reflective writing activity encourages students to recognize an education worker who has made a positive impact on their journey—reminding us how even the smallest gestures can create lasting change.
We’re proud to share that five members of our Wolfpack were acknowledged by former WSTA students for the difference they’ve made: Mr. Haener, Ms. Asadoorian, Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Ruggiero, and Mr. Flynn.
Thank you for your dedication, your heart, and the impact you continue to make on our students’ lives. Your work matters—and it shows
