Ranger Review Week #11
October 19-23
Homecoming: Mark Your Calendars...WMS homecoming will be the week of October 26-30. We will have theme days that week and students are allowed to wear their mums (See the theme day calendar below). That week, we will take on Barton Middle School in Football and Volleyball. 8th Graders will have the opportunity to play their game at HHS that week.
Red Ribbon Week: Red Ribbon Week is October 26-30. Students will participate in grade level specific lessons during advisory. This Drug Education instruction was developed in accordance with HB 3908 (Tucker's Law) and has been recommended by the Hays CISD School Health Advisory Council. The instruction your student will receive is specific their grade level. Please complete this form if you DO NOT want your student to participate in the Hays CISD Tucker's Law Drug Education. You can preview the grade level instructional materials at the following link: Hays CISD Tucker's Law Drug Education
Black Light Pep Rally: We will have our annual black light pep rally on Thursday, October 29. Due to ongoing construction and a reduction in available exterior doors accessible for emergency egress, we can only have 500 people in the gym at one time. For this pep rally, our cheer team will sell tickets for $2 October 26-28 in the morning by the stage. Students must be clear of ID fees to purchase a ticket. Parents will not be able to attend this pep rally.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks are on sale now! See the flyer below or click the link below to purchase yours today. Yearbooks are $38 until October 16 when the price increases. All students (PK – 12th) will be issued a Hays CISD identification card (ID) for the academic year. The ID will designate their assigned campus, name, academic year, grade, legislatively mandated information and student ID number. The ID is to be worn at all times while on campus or utilizing campus transportation. Any campus activity that utilizes the student ID # will rely on the presence of the ID for tracking purposes, i.e. bus transportation, café, library, etc.
In the event the students loses, misplaces, forgets an ID, they will be expected to report to their designated campus location to immediately receive a replacement. This cost of a replacement ID will be $5.00. This price is determined by the costs associated for supplies including card, lanyard, sleeve and printing. IDs can be paid for with cash, check, or on RevTrak. Students who owe ID fees are not eligible to go outside or to the library during lunch.
