Hello, Hawks:

We've had a busy week at Hockinson High School! Girl Soccer won in overtime on Wednesday night to keep their playoff dreams alive - they play in Centralia tomorrow for a chance at State Playoffs. Speaking of State - our Cross Country program is sending 19 runners to state. We started this morning with a send off! On Thursday, we continued our tradition of welcoming guest speakers that have served in the armed forces for our annual Veterans Day Panel. Our students did an incredible job of showing respect and giving their undivided attention to our honored guests. As a veteran, I personally want to thank our students for listening so attentively.

Tonight and tomorrow presents the last opportunities to see The Giver. Our students and staff have done an incredible job of bringing this story to life. Doors open at 7pm.

On Sunday, it is the 249th Birthday of the Marine Corps. For me and my fellow Marines, this birthday can mean as much as our real birthdays. Happy Birthday, Devil Dogs!

On Monday, we have no school to honor Veterans Day. Thank a veteran!

What an incredible list! In 2021, we had one runner qualify for state. ONE! This year, we've got 19! Congratulations to our runners and coaches!

Hockinson Theatre Company's production of The Giver opens next week! Over 40 Hockinson High School students are involved in this production and have been working incredibly hard for the past six weeks. In The Giver, a seemingly perfect, controlled society eliminates pain and strife by erasing all personal memories of the past. When young Jonas is chosen to inherit the position of Receiver of Memory, he uncovers the dark secrets beneath the surface and must decide whether to embrace conformity or risk everything for the chance at true freedom. This powerful story explores the cost of safety and the value of individuality.

There are six opportunities to see these amazing Hawks onstage!
