King's Highway Families,
We’re excited for the possibility of outdoor recess this week *fingers crossed for sunshine!* Please make sure students come bundled up and ready for some fresh-air fun. Our PTO meeting on February 12th is just around the corner, and we’d love to see you there. Don’t forget: February 13th is a half day, and school will be closed on February 16th in honor of Presidents Day. Be sure to check out the awesome details below about our STEM Club and Spanish Club—lots of great opportunities for students to learn, explore, and shine!

100th Day of School
We are going building wide for the 100th day of school! Let's see those 100 year old outfits!
STEM Club
Kindergarten and 1st Grade STEM Club
STEM Club for our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be starting in March! (The club runs in 3 cycles throughout the year.) In STEM Club, students will engage in various activities, challenges, and experiments to explore the components of STEM and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The club cycle will run on the following Tuesdays after school until 5pm: March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. There will be 20 available spots per cycle. (If more than 20 students apply to a cycle, there will be a lottery.)
Kindergarten and 1st grade students who are interested in participating in this cycle should complete the Interest Form by Friday, February 13th. Once students have been selected for the cycle, more information and a permission slip will be sent home. Please email Mrs. Bennett (bennette@casdschools.org) if you have any questions or if you need a paper copy of the Interest Form.
Leo Cart
We are looking for parent volunteers to help run our Leo Cart on the days and times listed below. Each grade level has a chunk of time that their students are available to be pulled to spend their PRIDE PAWS. It should not take the entire block of time to get through each class. If you are available to lend a hand and have all of your clearances turned into the office, we'd love and appreciate your support! If you have any questions don't hesitate to email Mrs. Mayan at mayanc@casdschools.org. Thank you for helping to make these days enjoyable for the students!
Spanish Club
We are excited to announce the return of our Spanish Club at King’s Highway Elementary this year! This is a great opportunity for students to explore language and culture in a supportive environment. Through interactive activities such as games, music, movement, crafts, and storytelling, students will build basic Spanish vocabulary, practice conversational skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for Hispanic culture.
All students are invited to join, and no prior experience with Spanish is required. The Spanish Club will meet after school on select Wednesdays in the library until 5:15 PM. Parents must ensure that their child is picked up promptly at 5:15 PM after each session. Students who are picked up late more than once may not be eligible to attend future club sessions.
Meeting Time: After School Until 5:15 PM
Spanish Club Session Dates:
· February 4
· February 11
· March 4
· March 11
· April 8
· April 22
Spanish Club Enrollment Form
Because we anticipate high interest, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of 20 students. Please confirm that your child will be available for the session dates listed above before enrolling your child in the Spanish club. Next, to secure a spot for your child, complete the Google form linked at the button below. A follow-up email will be sent to the families of students who are selected for the club with additional details and reminders about the program.
Thank you in advance for supporting your child's participation in this exploration and celebration of Hispanic language and culture! If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact Miss Kaptur via email at kapturh@casdschools.org.
Kind regards, Hannah Kaptur Spanish Club Advisor King’s Highway Elementary School
The Back Is Where Its At
The Back Is Where It's At - coming to KH Feb 20th
The Back Is Where It’s At” is an interactive seat belt program designed for pre-school and elementary school students. Emphasis is placed on the importance of being properly restrained inside a vehicle and teaching kids the safest place to sit in a car. The program also covers crash dynamics and kids learn why it is dangerous to sit in the front seat where there’s an active airbag.
COIN CLASH - FINAL DAYS (Ends Wednesday)
PTO Fundraiser
From January 28th – February 4th, the school halls will echo with the glorious clang of Coin Clash as pennies, bills, and the occasional sneaky silver coin fly into buckets! Pennies and paper money boost your homeroom’s score, while those shiny silver coins do the opposite, so choose wisely… or mischievously. Some may play it straight, feeding their own bucket fistfuls of copper glory, while others may attempt strategic chaos by dropping silver coins into another homeroom’s bucket to throw off their totals. It’s all part of the fun, the friendly rivalry, and the race to coin-counting glory—so grab that spare change, check under the car seat, and let the clash begin! 💰🔥
