Superintendent'sLetter June 4, 2021

Friday, June 4, 2021

Dear Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,

It is hard to believe that today is the last day of school for our seniors and there is just over a week of school left for the rest of our students. There is much to celebrate!

The Lebanon High School 2021 Commencement Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 10, 2021 on the Lebanon High School Football Field. We are looking forward to celebrating the personal and academic achievements of our graduating senior class. We are proud of your efforts and our best wishes for you as you move forward in life.

Here is an update from the SAU this week:

Three Year Strategic Plan Survey (2022-2025)

It is important for a school district to have a strategic plan that includes actionable, targeted goals. Next fall, the SAU #88 Administrative Leadership Team will begin the hard work of developing the next Three Year Strategic Plan (2022-2025). It will be the Lebanon School District's third three-year strategic plan.

Since 2015, community members have offered valuable input into key priority areas for SAU#88. Based on that feedback, we developed the first Three Year Strategic Plan (Fall 2015- Spring 2018) and the second Three Year Strategic Plan (Fall 2018-Spring 2022).

In developing the Strategic Plan, we will use different methods to gather information including surveys and a community forum in addition to being discussed at Board meetings next spring. The input from this survey being issued along with other upcoming opportunities for input will be used to inform and develop a third Three Year Strategic Plan. The plan will be created in Fall 2021 and approved by the School Board in Spring 2022.

We would like to hear from you about what goals are most important to accomplish. What do you see as the top priorities as we move forward? Your perspective will help us to develop a cohesive Three Year Strategic (2022-2025) for the Lebanon School District.

Please use this link to access the survey which will cover the following subjects:

1) Fostering Positive Culture and Community

  • Cultivate a positive school culture by developing a school community that promotes academic achievement, enhances students' physical and emotional well-being, and supports a sense of belonging.

2) Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

  • Design and provide curriculum, instruction, and assessment frameworks that are student-centered and supported through comprehensive professional learning experiences.

3) Student Supports

  • Develop and implement structures that support, respond to, and celebrate the variability of all learners.

4) Infrastructure- Enhancing Technology and Facilities

  • Provide safe, secure, and well-maintained facilities with a technology infrastructure that supports student learning.

A separate survey focused on equity will be administered next fall along with scheduling a community forum in the winter.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey. Your responses are anonymous and will be combined with all the other responses to protect anonymity.

The survey will close on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 4:00 pm.

School and Community Safety

We are balancing the safety of individuals who have been fully vaccinated and those who have not, specifically our children. In order to keep the health and safety of our staff and students a priority, we will continue to require wearing masks, physical distancing, and hand sanitizing for the rest of the school year. With a little over a week left of the school year, we ask for your support in keeping these mitigating layers in place.

Over the summer, we will be reviewing CDC and NH DHHS guidance in developing protocols and will announce those before school starting in the fall.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

In Closing

It looks like temperatures will reach the 90s over the next few days. Remember to keep hydrated, get outside, and have a great weekend!
