The Tiger Times

Week of Aug 23, 2026
Good Evening Tigers,
This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High with this week's updates.
Thank you to everyone for coming out to Open House! We had a great turnout and we are so excited to start the school year! If you were unable to make it, schedules are available on Infinite Campus. Students can log in, and parents you can view information through Campus Parent! For anyone who needs it, the Schedule Change Form is live and available on our website and in our newsletter. It will close at noon on Friday, Aug 28. Please remember schedule changes will only happen for errors. Our counselors are working through the requests now, so thank you for your patience.
We are joining ClassDojo! ClassDojo is another great way for us to share information and communicate both school-wide information and from specific teachers and coaches. See information below for a link and QR code to connect with us! Class Dojo will replace REMIND.
Parking Passes for the 2026-2027 school year are on sale now- see our newsletter or social media! Scan the QR code for all the details so that you can know what information you need before paying your fee! Seniors- our PTSA will be organizing our Senior Parking Spot Painting after the Raffle for the senior lot on Sept 7 so please purchase your spot ASAP!
Athletic passes for students and families are on sale now! They are a great deal and will allow entry at all regular season home games and matches for the year! Calling all golfers to join our 38th Annual Stone Open Golf Outing. Our tournament will be held in just one short week, August 29.
Remember- our doors open at 8:55am and the bell for class sounds at 9:10am. Students are late at 9:15am. All students will report to homeroom every day this week. For returning Tigers, your homeroom will be in the same room as last year. For our new students and freshmen, please see the postings throughout the main halls. Weaver students should report to Ragsdale the first day. Any students who have an open block or a class at GTCC or Weaver will be issued a pass to show at exit each day. Students should only leave school through the main entrance. Any student who arrives after first block must sign in at attendance this week to be counted in attendance and to get their pass. Any student with an open block must leave campus at dismissal or they will be assigned a Ragsdale class.
Families- on Thursday and Friday, all students will view the Protecting our Students videos. Find all information at www.gcsnc.com/protect. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please complete the opt out form that can be found in our newsletter or in the main office by end of day Wednesday.
We are excited to begin this year with you. Families, thank you for trusting us with your child. Tigers, can't wait to see you TOMORROW!
Thank you, have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Nitty-Gritty Information
- Please review student schedules through Infinite Campus or Campus Parent. Schedule change form is below and on our social media sites.
- Students are late for school at 9:15am. Checkouts end at 4:00pm. Parents and individuals picking up students must bring their picture ID AND must be listed in Infinite Campus as able to pick up.
- GCS High Schools are continuing to issue devices for every high school student. Keep in mind that the number of chromebook loaners and replacing broken items might not be sustainable this year. It is so important that students take care of devices. The only time students will be able to go to the media center about devices will be before school at 8:55 to 9:10.
- After the first 2 weeks of school, we will open back up our Amazon Clothing Closet Cart as well as general supplies for classrooms as we will not be able to supply any tissues, wipes, hand sanitizer, etc.
- Scan the QR code on the parking pass flyer for details! Once you upload/complete all the information and pay, passes can be picked up Aug 12, 9am to 2pm, during Open House, or from the Attendance Office once school begins! Cost is $50! SENIORS- be on the lookout for opportunities to paint your spot!

Schoolwide Expectations
We have high Expectations for All Tigers. Please review some of our guides below.
Protecting our Students
Dear Guilford County Schools Families,
As part of our continued commitment to student safety and well-being, students in grade six through 12 will view age-appropriate safety videos provided by the North Carolina Center for Safer Schools during the first five days of the 2025-2026 school year. These videos are designed to help students recognize and understand the warning signs of adult misconduct, including grooming behaviors, and to encourage them to seek help and report.
In accordance with Session Law 2023-128/HB142, and North Carolina General Statute G.S. 115C-105.57(2a), public schools are required to show these educational videos annually. The goal is to increase awareness among students, staff, and families about the signs of potentially harmful behavior by adults and to support a culture of safety, trust, and open communication in our school community.
While the videos depict scenarios involving school staff, the underlying message is not specific to school employees. The purpose is to help students remain vigilant in all settings and with any adult they may encounter - not just at school.
The videos are posted to the district website for parents to preview. We understand that some families may prefer their child not to participate in the viewing of these videos. If you wish to opt your child out, please complete the opt out form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than the third day of school.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school a safe and supportive environment for all students.

News from the District
Apply to the North Carolina Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council
The North Carolina Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council will bring together parent leaders from across the state to serve in an advisory capacity aligned to the eight State Board of Education regions. The initiative is designed to elevate informed family voice, strengthen trust, and ensure that those closest to students play an active role in shaping the future of public education. For purposes of this initiative, the term "parent" is intended to be inclusive of all primary caregivers, including guardians and other family members who play a central role in a child’s education.
