Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

I'm excited to head to First Friday tonight to watch our 3rd Grade students perform at the Johnny Appleseed Festival at 5:00 pm. They are very excited, and practiced today performing for their Kinder Buddies.

This past Wednesday morning, we had the Kenyon Men's Soccer Team visit for morning fitness. The men were amazing role models for our students and so engaging. They modeled being positive and supportive when playing, and our students were following in their footsteps with one student clapping and cheering for their teammates. It was so nice to see, because as a school we have been working hard on our good sportsmanship. This has been a focus on morning announcements.

I would appreciate if you would talk with your child about using technology appropriately at school. We have had some instances lately of students not being responsible digital citizens. Please review the information below from the Acceptable Usage Policy that you sign on the portal before school starts. Thank you!

Responsible Digital Citizenship

Being a digital citizen at MVCSD, we use information and technology in safe, legal and responsible ways. We educate our students on what this means and continue this conversation throughout our work. A responsible digital citizen will posses the following attributes:

● Respect One’s Self: I will select online names that are appropriate and will consider the information and images that I post online.

● Protects One’s Self: I will protect myself with appropriate online behavior and practice safety on the internet; I will not post personal details. (Home address, phone numbers, schedules, etc….)

● Respect others: Technology is not to be used to bully, tease or harass others.

● Report abuse: Refrain from inappropriate content or communications.

● Respects intellectual property: Refrain from plagiarism; cite any and all use of websites, books, media, etc

● Protects intellectual property: Request written permission to use content produced by others.
