BFA String Ensemble performed at the Age Well luncheon
On Wednesday, April 2nd the BFA String Ensemble performed at the Age Well luncheon held for senior citizens at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. This is the third consecutive year where this group has performed a full concert for this event. Event organizer Laura Need has called this her “favorite event of the year” and stated that the response to this event has been “overwhelming.”
The packed hall enjoyed selections the String Ensemble has been playing all year and some new ones including the Elvis favorite “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The group was conducted by MRUSD String Teacher Alex “Rusty” Charpentier and BFA Music’s Eric Bushey. After playing for around a half hour a unison chuckle fell through the room when Bushey introduced the last number by saying: “you’re not old enough to remember this next one but it’s by a guy called Elvis Presley.”
The BFA String Ensemble looks forward to presenting another such performance for Age Well next year.
Autism Awareness Month
Shout out to my friend Riley and all of my friends, who have taught me so much about kindness, perspective, and the beauty of seeing the world uniquely. Autism isn’t something to “fix” – it’s something to understand, embrace, and celebrate.
This month (and always), let’s be kind, be inclusive, and open our minds. Differences make us stronger. #RedInstead
BFA Interact Students Host a Successful Blood Drive!
Today, BFA Interact students organized a highly successful blood drive in support of the American Red Cross. Thanks to their dedication and hard work, we saw an incredible turnout, including many first-time donors, community members, and faculty. Your generosity and willingness to give will make a real difference in the lives of those in need. A huge shout-out to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported the drive.
