Principal's Message
Dear Live Oak Families,
As we approach the end of our first trimester on Friday, November 6, I want to take a moment to celebrate all the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students. It has been wonderful watching them learn, build friendships, and continue to grow both academically and socially. We are so proud of their progress!
As we enter this season of gratitude, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for our amazing Live Oak families, dedicated staff, and wonderful students. Your continued support and partnership help make Live Oak such a special place to learn and grow.
Attendance Matters!
One of our ongoing goals at Live Oak is to reduce chronic absenteeism and ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Every day of learning matters! Our teacher-led attendance committee continues to recognize and reward students who have perfect attendance and arrive at school on time each day. Students receive recognition every two weeks, with special rewards for those who maintain perfect attendance throughout the trimester.
Of course, when your child is sick, please keep them home. Students should stay home if they have a fever, are vomiting, have diarrhea, or have another contagious illness. However, when your child is healthy and able to attend, we want them here and ready to learn! Consistent attendance helps students build strong learning habits, stay connected with their classmates, and reach their full potential.
Thanksgiving Break – November 23–27
We are especially excited that this year, students and staff will have the entire week of Thanksgiving off! There will be no school November 23–27, and students will return on Monday, November 30, 2026.
I hope this extended break provides everyone with an opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality time with family and friends.
As we head into November, I am reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for here at Live Oak. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day and for being such an important part of our school community. We look forward to a wonderful November and a successful start to our second trimester!
Sincerely,
Tonia Arevalo

Reports Cards and Awards Ceremonies
Dear Live Oak Families,
First trimester report cards will be sent home on Friday, November 13th. Please keep the report card for your records, but sign and return the envelope to your child's teacher.
This year, our staff has decided not to hold a first trimester awards ceremony, as these awards would be based on beginning-of-year assessments completed before students have had the opportunity to receive instruction.
Instead, we will celebrate student achievement with awards ceremonies in March and May, following our middle-of-year and end-of-year assessments. This will allow us to recognize the hard work, progress, and academic growth students have made throughout the school year!
Families of students receiving awards will receive invitations prior to each ceremony.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support!

Live Oak Voting Polls on Campus November 3rd
Live Oak Families,
On Tuesday, November 3 our campus will serve as a polling location for the Midterm General Election. Due to this, you will notice additional activity on campus. Polls will be open in our staff lounge.
Our school and district staff have planned accordingly to ensure that there will be minimal disruptions to the school day during voting times. Students will enter as usual and head straight to the cafeteria or blacktop area. Additionally, hired security will be present on campus to help ensure that voters remain within designated voting areas.
Thank you for your understanding.
Student Safety Reminder
Please help us keep our Live Oak students safe by making sure all gates fully close and latch behind you when entering or exiting campus. Please take a moment to check that the gate has securely latched before walking away.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure campus! 💚🌳
