Welcome back, WUHS students and families!

A new school year means a new opportunity. An opportunity to get started and build on the strong foundation that makes Wayland Union High School a special place. As we begin the year, our expectations remain high because we believe in what our students are capable of.

You'll notice construction continuing around campus this year. While there may be a few temporary inconveniences, they are a reminder that our community is investing in the future of our students. Great things are being built here, in our classrooms and across our campus.

Let's set the tone from day one. Show up prepared. Take pride in being a Wildcat. Encourage those around you, embrace challenges, and make every day count.

Go Wildcats!

Senior Locker Decorating

Calling Senior parents! As tradition continues, we invite you to the high school on Sunday,

August 23rd, from 5:30pm - 8pm, to decorate your student's locker. Decorations will remain up all year long.

Here's a few things to keep in mind:

  • Only the lockers may be decorated. Nothing will be applied on the ceiling or walls.

  • Tape must NOT be used, as this damages the paint. Magnets are highly recommended! Putty is allowed, but does not hold up as long.

  • No glitter.

  • All decorations and pictures must be school appropriate.

Senior Sunrise

Seniors only...Come kick off your SENIOR year before your (last) first day of school!

Meet at the football stadium at 6:30am.

  • Donuts and beverages provided.
  • Make sure to bring your blanket!

Senior Pictures

Senior photos should be emailed to yearbook@waylandunion.org. Please share only one photo to be used in the yearbook. Photos need to be in portrait orientation. The clothing choice needs to follow the school dress code. We request that the pictures look professional (i.e. no “selfies”). Solid colors and a simple head and shoulder shot looks best in the yearbook. Artificial intelligence images may not be submitted. Please crop your photo before submitting.

If there are financial issues that prevent getting a senior picture taken, please let us know because we can arrange for a yearbook photographer to take some nice pictures. For questions please contact yearbook@waylandunion.org.

Photos due are by Friday, December 11, 2026.
