The Rocket Tribune
Good Afternoon Rocket Families,
I want to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers and to you, our families, for the teamwork and flexibility shown during our recent E-Learning days. Our teachers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare meaningful, engaging lessons that kept learning moving forward despite the change in setting. Their dedication, creativity, and commitment to our students were evident in the thoughtful plans and strong connections they maintained.
At the same time, we are incredibly grateful for our parents and guardians. Your support at home—helping students log in, stay focused, and complete their work—made a tremendous difference. Together, we showed our students that learning doesn’t stop when circumstances change—and that when school and home work together, great things happen. Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and continued support of our school community.

INTRA-DISTRICT TRANSFER REQUESTS FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
For elementary and incoming kindergarten students currently living in Perry Township, Intra-District Transfer applications will be accepted January 5-February 13, 2026. Applications will only be accepted after this period from families that are new to Perry Township. Acceptance letters will be mailed to households after March 13, 2026. If a parent chooses not to accept the Intra-district transfer for the 2026-2027 school year, they must notify the office of Assistant Superintendent for Foundational Learning at The Perry Township Education Center no later than April 30, 2026. We anticipate that each Kindergarten Academy will be able to accept up to 20 transfer students. Intra-District Transfers are good for as long as you are in the school. A new form will need to be submitted when going into the 6th grade, or from kindergarten into 1st grade. Current transfer students do not need to complete a new form. Requests must be turned into the requested school by February 13, 2026.
2026-2027 Kindergarten Registration Information
Kindergarten registration will begin on January 5, 2026 for those students who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2026. The student must turn 5 years old on or before August 1, 2026 in order to register. There is a waiver process for children with a birthdate after August 1 st up to August 15th. The Kindergarten Academy your student will attend is determined by your residence only and not where other siblings may be attending. To determine which Kindergarten Academy your child will attend, please go to the Perry Township website at perryschools.org. Go to the For Parents tab, click on Enrollment, and Boundary Map. https://www.perryschools.org/for-parents/enrollment/
Val-O-Grams supporting our Student Council
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Give to your friends and they may give to you!
Student Council will be selling Val-O-Grams suckers and water bottle stickers for $0.50 during lunch times during the week of February 2nd-6th.
**As supplies last**
Why does the Student Council need funds?
We do several service projects each year that we need supplies. These service projects include hosting a recreation night at Wheeler Mission's Women and Children's Center. Another project we do is in conjunction with the PTEC preschool. One of the classes read the book, The Color Monster. Then the preschool students draw their own monsters. Our student council kids then make the monsters "come alive" by turning their drawings into stuffed monsters.

Students Walking Home From School
If you child is going to walk home from school, he or she will need to have a signed letter from a parent or guardian stating that it is ok for them to do so. If we do not have a letter, then they will be a car rider or bus rider. Thank you for understanding, we want to make sure that all of our students are safe!
Medication Consent Form and Policy
Your written permission is required, in advance, if your child has a prescription or over-the-counter medicine, or requires management of chronic health conditions or any health needs with a physician order while in school. Before bringing any medications to school for your child, check the expiration date. All medications must be in their original containers and prescriptions must have the pharmacy label affixed. Parents must bring medications to school for students in grades pre-K through 8. Students in grades 9 through 12 may bring medications to school.

Treats for Birthdays
As we continue to move forward with our school year, we have received some phone calls about bringing in birthday treats.
At this time, we are asking all parents to not bring in cakes, cupcakes, ice cream, or other treats for the classroom or birthdays. All of our teachers honor our Rocket birthdays on their own in their individual class. We want to make sure that we are honoring the students academic time in class.
Thank you for your understanding.
