February 2026
Message from Ms. Misner
Happy Black History Month!
All year long, we strive to teach Black History but this month we will highlight and celebrate the contributions African Americans have made in our collective American History. The 2026 Black History Month is "A Century of Black History Commemorations," marking 100 years since the first observance in 1926, focusing on the impact of these celebrations on shaping identity, fostering pride, and advancing equality, while also honoring the struggles and triumphs of Black labor. I have linked some resources for you and your family below.
We have many events coming up soon including Literacy Night and Kindergarten/PEEP Orientation. Important Dates are included later in this Newsletter.
I hope you all are staying safe and healthy as we finish out the winter months!
Take good care,
Ms. Misner
