🥧 Thanksgiving Dessert Competition Winners 🥧 Thanksgiving Dessert Competition Winners

Thank you so much for making our Dessert Competition such a joyful, delicious, and truly heart-warming community event. Your creativity, generosity, and willingness to bake, experiment, revive old family recipes, and dream up wonderfully wacky creations brought so much sweetness—literally and figuratively—to our school. From dazzling decorations to unexpected flavor combinations, every single one of the 94 entries made the event unforgettable. 🧁✨

If you have a moment, we would be grateful if you could share your dessert’s recipe and understand some might be top secret. Please use this link and, under the “Bakers-Winners- Recipes” tab, add the link to your recipe if you’re comfortable doing so. 📜

Additionally, if your dessert won first place or was a runner-up in your category, could you kindly update the table with names, grades, and dessert? This will help us ensure all winners are recognized accurately. 🏆💫

Thank you again for filling our school with creativity, connection, and sweetness. 🍪💛💚

🔎 LT Learning Lab 🔎 LT Learning Lab

Thank you to Dr. Miller, Ms. Broom, and Ms. Toussaint for taking the time to help us all better understand the iReady and CAPE scores. And thank you to everyone that attended both in person and virtually.

👉 For those that were not able to attend (or if you want to review), please find the slides and recorded session here.

❗LT Listens: A New Way to Connect and be heard Community Questions and Concerns ❗LT Listens: A New Way to Connect and be heard Community Questions and Concerns

We know that communication — especially making sure the right people hear what’s going on, whether it’s to share good news or raise a concern — isn’t always easy. To help strengthen our community, we’ve created an anonymous Community Questions and Concerns form.

This isn’t meant to replace direct communication with your child’s teacher or the school leadership team. Whenever possible, we encourage you to reach out directly to those best positioned to help (and when in doubt, include Dr. Miller, AP Watson, Mr. Barnes, and Ms. Reid).

But if you’re unsure where to start, would prefer to remain anonymous, just need some guidance, or even want to request an LT Learning Lab, the PTO is here to help you find a positive way forward. We’ll do our best to direct your question to the right place, get answers and offer support where we can.

👉Provide input here

🙌 Reminder: Volunteer & Get Involved! 🙌 Reminder: Volunteer & Get Involved!

We need YOU to keep our community strong! Whether you have an hour or more (or less), there’s a role for everyone.

🔧 URGENT NEEDS

  • Art Night Volunteers: 👉Sign up here

Because of the large volume of artwork to hang and display, we are looking for parent volunteers to support us in the days leading up to the event. To make things easier, we have broken the volunteer opportunities into several days and time slots.

  • Food Prints Volunteers: 👉Sign up here

Check out the upcoming Food Prints schedule and see where you can come help out! Note: For 2nd and 3rd grade slots, their Food Prints classes are *split* into two chunks due to their schedule, 11:50 AM -12:35 PM and 2-3 PM. Parents can sign up for both or one, most or all cooking will happen in the first time slot, and then our lesson and eating our recipe in the second slot.

  • We 💚 LT: Time for Teachers Champions– Seeking 1–2 Parent Leads

We’re creating a meaningful way to give back—by giving our teachers/staff the gift of time. We’re looking for 1–2 parent volunteers to help design this new “We 💛 LT” initiative (and help name it!) in partnership with Ms. Moreno and Ms. Godfrey. Parent leads will help develop a sustainable model where volunteers cover select duties or tasks, allowing teachers more dedicated planning and prep time. If you’re interested in supporting our staff in a big way—and shaping this new program from the ground up—please email pto@ludlowtaylor.org to get involved.

THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone that baked tasty desserts, ate the tasty desserts, voted on the tasty desserts, volunteered at the potluck, and last but not least the Events Committee (RaShonda Riddle, Mallory Domingue, Lea Laman, and Liz Goldman)! Our Annual Thanksgiving Dessert Potluck & Competition would not exist without you. And a huge shout out to the “swap moms” for organizing and ensuring the coat/uniform exchange was a success! AND to Mr. Thompson and Mr. Wright. We appreciate everything you did to help us set up and staying late to clean up all of our mess.

A quick note from your PTO friends: Some of the info in this newsletter is shared on behalf of the LTES administration. We’re happy to pass it along, but we don’t have any additional details beyond what’s included here. For follow-up questions, please reach out directly to the school team (Principal Miller is your best bet!). We’re always here to help where we can!
