Hi Everyone,

I hope you all have had a nice week. It was great to see so many families attend last night's Open House. If you were unable to come or a staff member was not available, you can always reach out to them for more information regarding their class.

Yesterday, we had our first official full school assembly as part of our initiative to continue supporting positive school culture, and it was awesome. The seniors who were running the show (Cooper Dodge and Josh Neal) did a great job, and it was fun to hear (and see) the announcements. My favorite part was hearing the entire student body (and staff) laughing together.

We took the iReady diagnostic on Monday and Tuesday, and we just have a few students left to complete. The great thing about this test is that we can use the data we gather to inform our instruction and to make necessary changes to support student growth and success. Stay tuned for more information regarding your specific student's data.

If you need anything or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks,

Amanda

As some of you know, for nearly 20 years, York High School has had a strong connection with the town of Obersulm, Germany, in the form of an exchange between our two high schools. Some of you may have even participated in the exchange. Our German partners will be returning the visit this coming fall. They will arrive in York on Saturday, October 18 and leave on Tuesday, October 28.

We are still looking for host families for eight students. They all speak excellent English and are excited about learning more about York and our school. Your child does not have to speak German, just be willing to learn about another culture and provide a bed and food. They will shadow YHS students for four days in the school and take part in other field trips on the other days. Please contact the school or Frau Kyer (mkyer@yorkschools.org) for more information.
