East Elementary Family Newsletter

At East Elementary, we are incredibly thankful for our parents and the many ways they support our campus! We are especially grateful for two amazing groups—our PTO and Watch DOGS—who work together to make a difference for our students and staff every day!

From monthly workroom days that help lighten the load for teachers, to covering lunch duty, volunteering in classrooms, helping with Snack Cart, and dads stepping up to assist with morning drop-off, these parents are always willing to jump in wherever they are needed!

East is a large campus with lots of students and teachers and lots of needs, and these two groups consistently give their time and energy to help us meet those needs. They serve selflessly, often behind the scenes, and their support does not go unnoticed!

To every parent who has volunteered their time—THANK YOU! We appreciate you more than you know, and our campus is better because of you!

Want to get involved? We would love to have you! There is always room for more helping hands, and we encourage any parent interested in volunteering to join our PTO or Watch DOGS. Together, we can continue making East a great place for our students and staff!

It will start at 9:45, and we will only circle the school once - it will not take us long! If parents want to sign out students after the parade, you will do so with their classroom teacher!

**Should it be rainy, we will cancel the parade - students can still wear costumes to school, but we will not have a parade if it is rainy or stormy.

Students (with help from parents) are able to nominate special teachers by clicking here and selecting “Lubbock,” where they can submit a short essay on how their teacher goes above and beyond the call of duty. Teachers On The Rise winners receive great prizes including a $100 United Supermarkets shopping spree, a $100 AMEX gift card from Mrs Baird's Bread, and a gift basket full of goodies from Mrs Baird's Bread. Students who nominate a winning teacher will receive a $50 American Express gift card!
