The Buzz
AUTUMN TERM - 11th DECEMBER 2025
Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents and Carers,
Lights…Camera….Action…It’s Showtime! What an absolute pleasure it has been to watch all of our eight Christmas shows ranging from Nursery all the way up to Year 2. The children looked fabulous in their costumes; the singing has been wonderful; the staging, backdrop and lighting looked very professional. For the past four weeks your children and all of our staff have been working incredibly hard during their rehearsals and the filming will be released on Thursday 18th December. Thank you for all your help and support with your children’s costumes, learning lines and listening to the songs. Well done to all our HISN staff for their dedication and passion in ensuring your children were able to ‘be the best they could be’ on stage.
HPPA- Fundraising Results
As we approach our final week next week, I would like to congratulate HPPA on all the money they have raised so far from the numerous fundraising events that they have organised and you have supported. Please see the video below which shares all the events.
This year we have a bonus hamper of goodies, donated by our governors, to give away to one lucky winner. Every child across the partnership has been allocated a number and the winner will be picked at random on Monday next week. If your child's number is picked we will contact you to come and collect from the relevant school office.
Finally, I would like to take the time to say thank you for your continuous support with HISN and I hope you and your family have a lovely weekend when it arrives.
Anna Gale
Head of School

NURSERY
We have been very busy in nursery preparing for Christmas! Decorating our Christmas tree, making paper chains and Christmas cards and getting messy, (and glittery!), making Christmas hats for our party next week.
EYFS had a surprise visit from the local fire brigade and some of the nursery children were lucky enough to be able to explore a fire engine and squirt the fire hose!
In maths we have been learning how to count accurately, using toys from Santa’s elves and buttons on gingerbread men.
RECEPTION
What a busy week! In between practising our Christmas songs and actions - and remembering to say our lines (in a loud voice) we went for a walk and posted our Christmas cards into a post box. We are now waiting for them to arrive at home!
On Tuesday we found a fire engine in our school carpark with REAL firefighters on board! We all climbed through the engine and we were allowed to hold the enormous hose and spray a huge arc of water into the air. This made us all feel very cheerful!
Fraser Portraits
There is still time to order your childs school photograph in time for Christmas delivery. Please email Fraser Portraits directly at sales@fraserportraits.com.

Messages from the Office
Toilet use after school
If your child needs to use the toilet after school, they can use the toilets in RK, these are well known to the children. All children are given the opportunity to visit the toilet before leaving for the day so please speak to your child about this if this is happening frequently. Children and parents must not enter the school building to find toilets. There is a toilet at HJS in the Music room which children are able to use.
NHS Pharmacy First Service
The NHS Pharmacy First Service is an England-only service, which allows you to access advice and treatment for seven common conditions from your community pharmacy, without the need to see a GP.
It's easy, just walk into a participating pharmacy and ask for help.
The seven common conditions are :
🤒Sinusitus 🤒Impetigo🤒Sore Throat 🤒Shingles🤒Earache 🤒Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women🤒Infected insect bites and stings
Lost Property
Please make sure that your child's water bottle, sweatshirt or cardigan is named; lost property will be put in the box outside the office reception area. Please communicate to other parents via Classlist if you have trouble locating lost cardigans/sweatshirts.
Mobile Phones
Parents should end their phone calls before they enter the school site so that you can greet your children without any distractions and with a smile.
Parking
A reminder to all parents to be considerate to our neighbours when dropping off in the morning and collecting at the end of the day. We do have parking enforcement officers regularly in attendance so please do not park on zigzags, double lines, corners of roads, across neighbours driveways. Ripley Road is a School Street zone and is closed to traffic Monday-Friday 8.30am-9.00am and 2.45pm-3.15pm.
Arbor Medical Information
If your child has a medical condition, please make sure that you update their Arbor record. This information is very important and will be used by our Welfare Medical Officer, Miss Bissett.
