Academy Announcements

Dear Academy families and friends,

The first week went well...despite the heat. Summer apparently wanted to remind us it was still here even if school had started. The kids and staff did great and the school finally had that great vibe we have been missing all summer long! This past week, we worked on developing out the different ROAR values of our PBIS model, which help students learn and know the expectations of the new school year. They did great and were able to pick right up and start the new school on the right foot! We've been posting a bunch of photos to our socials, so please subscribe often and early...you won't want to miss a thing.

Also for those families new to using the school smore...this software makes newsletters more like a blog. Be sure to click on the different boxes below as they are often linked to more information, helping families connect to the information you need either from Academy or from the district.

This past week, we sent home several messages regarding the early literacy universal screener for students in grades K-3. Please be sure to read those letters carefully.

Last but not least, tomorrow night is our Open House from 6-8pm. Families and children are invited to come and tour the building, see the sights and connect with the teachers and staff. There will also be special tables with different information from the AAPC, SEPAC, and other important information.

Staffing Needs

Academy Avenue is looking for two building substitutes to join the team. A building substitute would be part of the team and help cover classes when teachers are absent or when we have team meetings during the day. These individuals get to work with different grades throughout the building and are very helpful in supporting our classrooms and programs. If you know of someone who would be a good fit for this position, please have them apply on schoolspring.com or contact the school office at 781.335.4717.
