Road Safety Reminder
Keeping our tamariki safe on their way to and from school is something we all share responsibility for. Over the past few weeks, we have seen an increase in unsafe behaviour around the school, including:
-
Near misses on the 6th Avenue crossing
-
Parents parking or driving in ways that put children at risk
-
Concerns raised about children biking and scootering safely to and from school
Please take extra care during drop-off and pick-up times. Slow down, use the designated parking areas, and stay alert — children can be unpredictable and may make sudden or unsafe choices near the road.
To support us with this mahi, Tauranga City Council will be working alongside the school to increase monitoring around our streets. Their focus is on educating drivers and, where necessary, enforcing road rules to keep everyone safe.
Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and care.
