Tonight's Bell Schedule

Tonight you will be following your student's schedule of classes. Each class period will be 10 minutes with 5 minutes provided for passing. Period 2 has additional time for welcoming comments from the principal. Student greeters and guides are located throughout the building for your assistance.

Principal Langer's message to parents

Hello again Vikings! I am Mark Langer, Principal of Fremd High School and I want to welcome you to our annual Open House. We are so excited to have you here and appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to walk in your student’s shoes and to meet the staff that work with them on a daily basis. Tonight’s program is designed to help further your understanding of your student’s classes with regard to curriculum and educational experiences. By being here tonight, you have taken an important step in actively supporting your students’ education.

I want to say a special thank you to all the students and faculty involved tonight. Our student volunteers assisting and greeting you in the halls, and performing this evening, represent our many clubs, spirit groups, and performing arts.

As you follow your student’s schedule, you will have the opportunity to hear from their teachers. Please keep in mind that each teacher is potentially meeting the families of up to 150 students this evening and as much as they want to, can’t possibly have individual conversations with everyone. Therefore, if you would like to discuss individual concerns about your student, please contact the teacher directly to get student-specific questions answered.

Here are a few other logistical items regarding this evening:

During a free period, such as study hall or lunch, you are invited to visit one of the areas listed on the program:

  • having a snack in the student cafeteria

  • visiting the English Department Book Fair, located in the Tutoring Center of the Library,

  • outside the gym, stop by the Viking Spirit Shop to pick up some Fremd gear,

  • And during non-lunch periods you can meet with a counselor and visit with your student’s support teams at the Viking Rug outside the students cafeteria

If you have a freshman, you will see an Advisory/Lunch listed on the schedule. Please attend this class, as it is your students VAMP, or Viking Advisory Mentoring Program, period. Counselors will be there to talk about what takes place during this time.

Lastly please consider joining the Fremd Booster Club, our parent organization. The Booster Club works closely with the school to enhance the Viking Student Experience in all areas of student life. If you’d like more information about the booster club, or to join, please be sure to check them out at the Viking rug, outside the cafeteria, or visit them online.

Thank you again for coming this evening. I hope you have a great night and go Vikes!
